Flying Witch #8 fails to play and I am told to report the Error Code, SRM-8001, to a number that never works

Well as of sixteen days ago the episodes appeared about 24 hrs later and all played fine.

The only trouble episode now is Flying Witch #8 as it is on the list but fails to play when selected and am told to report Error Code SRM-8001 I believe to the same never connecting phone number

Sorry for the sparse updates over the past few weeks, every update had been fine over the past few weeks with nothing missing !

On the “Cogeco cuts off early on non-regular length shows” problem from last month with the Mardock Scramble movies, here is what I gathered afterwards :

  • The 1st Hakuouki movie was cut-off midway in the credits. I don’t recall the runtimes

  • The 2nd Hakuouki movie didn’t have that problem and actually had an identified runtime of 95 minutes when the movie ended at about 7 or 8 minutes earlier. So everything was played from start to finish.

  • The Onigiri miniseries cuts-off immediately at the end credits, I don’t know however if this problem affects all 13 episodes. I only saw two episodes of the show and I probably won’t ever watch the third…let’s just say this problem is now persona non-grata :no_mouth: The last miniseries that played on VOD was Yamishibai back this Summer, and it had the same problem of cutting off as the credits began.

I don’t know what could cause this problem. A normal-length show ( ~ 25 min. ) usually is identified as being a 30 min. show on the Cogeco VOD menus, so “regular” shows are not affected by this problem.

The Cogeco bumpers before the show ( “this program is suitable for _______ audiences”, etc… ) doesn’t even last 30 seconds, so I don’t think it is a case of “extra content” pushing off the show or movie beyond its time window.

I don’t know…is it as simple as adding an “extra 5 minutes” to whatever length a movie might have ?

The following updates are (still) broken.

  • Another 6 - No sound and it stops playing after about 1 minute.
  • Another 7 - No sound and it stops playing after about 1 minute.
  • Another 8 - No sound and it stops playing after about 1 minute.
  • Flying Witch 8 - No picture/choppy sound and it stops playing after about 1 minute.

“that is a customer error most often caused by low RF levels at the premise. If the customer is having issues they should be going through Suddenlink support. Please direct the customer to use online Suddenlink help or to call into Suddenlink support.”

  1. The only name changes are Gate #19, which is becomes “Gate0119” to match the new format, and Rinne #23/“Rin-ne0123”, same format but without the capitalization (they’re bored with it already). So now I understand: they were trying various naming schemes looking for one which was sufficiently annoying, tedious and hard to read; now that they’ve found it, they’ll stick with it for a while;

  2. The On Demand Portal has also updated, but with some glitches: Hamatora II #11 is listed under Season One, with Season One’s #11’s title and blurb, and Hayate II #9, High School of the Dead #10, Patlabor #24, Rinne #23, and Strawberry Marshmallow #7 are missing.
