Cardfight!! Vanguard G: GIRS Crisis - episode 8

Misaki’s big return! She hasn’t been seen since the beginning of the G series (season 5). Tokoha finds herself lost when she realizes Chrono and the newly awakened Shion, thanks to Kai, each seem to find themselves pursuing their own missions on the side. Chrono is card battling in other card shops to get stronger while Shion is after Ace and demolishing the competition in his wake. Hell he even tamed a nasty group called the Bloody Angels. The battle between Misaki and Tokoha was really fun to watch. Though Tokoha lost, she realizes that nothing about her really needs to change. Just stick to what she’s good at.

Cardfight!! Vanguard G: GIRS Crisis - episode 9

A new branch is introduced in this episode, the Zoo Branch with a nature theme. The Branch Manager here is…very unique. It’s time for another G-Quest! First the Preliminaries. The Branch Manager shoots an arrow at a spinning wooden disc with themes all over it. Where the arrow lands will be the theme of the preliminary event, which is cooking. Participants have 1 hour to gather their ingredients while facing “guardians” to battle for the right to the food. Then they must prepare a dish to serve to the judges. Many interesting and not to good concoctions were made but Team TRY3 pulls out the victory thanks to Chrono’s skills. Now onto the main event, your classic Vanguard match. A mystery guest is revealed and turns out to be Asian Veteran Christopher Lo. Tokoha battles him with full confidence and wins the G-Quest. That’s the end…or so you thought. Just as the medals were being handed out to Team TRY3, the guardians from the food challenge snatches the medals, reveal themselves as MegaColony and tells everyone that the REAL G-Quest is about to begin.

Great episode all around with that surprise at the end and it was nice to see Naoki present here. He’s so funny.

Cardfight!! Vanguard G: GIRS Crisis - episode 10

Nothing much to say here really. It’s a mission to get back the medals and another familiar face from seasons past returns. It’s Daigo!! You may remember him as the teleporting guy that appeared in PSY Shop. After a few weird rounds, Chrono Shindo must now battle Mr. Legendary to win the quest (for real this time.) It was a great battle and it looked as though Chrono was in trouble but all takes is realizing if you play the game your way, you’re bound to come out victorious. Chrono ultimately defeats him and the medals go to Team TRY3!!

Meanwhile with Mamoru…
Hmmm…somebody’s been tampering with FICA without permission from the developer and the answers may lie in GIRS? Uh oh. Something tells we’re about to gain an understanding where “GIRS Crisis” comes into play here.

Cardfight!! Vanguard G: GIRS Crisis - episode 12

This was a great episode. Chrono, Tokoha and Shion make their way to the Stargate Branch to face off with their toughest opponents yet, Toshiki Kai and Ibuki. There they see a meet and greet in progress and find out that Stargate has seen dwindling participation due to the extremely high difficulty on the battles and completion of the quest. Apparently spectators are only those teams confident in their skills. Tokoha decides to let the boys handle this so they can get their revenge. Alright then. The battle soon begins and Kai faces off against Shion. This was a very heated match throughout that seemed to put Kai on the ropes but unfortunately luck wasn’t with Shion and just couldn’t pull off the win. Now Chrono’s battle with Ibuki is soon to get underway. This should no doubt be another impressive match.

Behind the scenes, Kai appears to be quite impressed with Shion and told Ibuki “he just might surpass your expectations.” This smells of recruitment to me. Can’t wait to see how this shakes out, if at all.

Cardfight!! Vanguard G: GIRS Crisis - episode 14

Card Capital #1…it’s great to be back in familiar territory. A new shop tournament has begun and Morikawa makes his return with his joke of an “all Grade 3” deck. Also Kamui’s love for Emi (which caused Dreamy boy to space out and lose his match) and disgust for Nagisa were still there despite being grown up. Some things never change. :smirk: The funniest moments occur when Chrono battles Morikawa. Chrono’s expressions over his deck and gameplay killed me! Thankfully as embarrassing as it was Morikawa had him on the ropes, Chrono did win.

Overall this was a great return to a season 1 style episode where new and past characters clash for continuous hilarity.

CARDFIGHT!! VANGUARD G Technical Booster Vol. 1: THE RECKLESS RAMPAGE

CARDFIGHT!! Vanguard G: GIRS Crisis - Episode 18

Great episode. Team TRY3 makes a trip back to the now completely redesigned United Sanctuary to continue their G Quest. All traces of evil from before seem to be gone and is now a lively, happy place to play Vanguard to your hearts content. Once again characters from seasons past make their return and it’s Team Asteriod! Looks like Ren is now the new Branch Manager there. With new rules to this battle, Tokoha has really done well holding her own against Kyou and Asaka, but Asteriod leaving perfect guards on the table is raising some suspicion between Shion and Chrono, but is this just strategy? Now it’s Ren turn and he is a seriously tough opponent and even gave Kai quite a beating in season 3. Team TRY3 has their work cut out for them here. I’m looking forward to this match.
