I’m still a little surprised that Best Buy got an exclusive over the Funi store.
Steelbooks are cool, this show is a legend in its own time, but is it just me or is the art for the steelbook looking a little on the meh side?
It’s the art from the original releases . Either Funimation showing their creativity or that is all the art they were allowed to use .
As to why Best Buy they’ve had some kind of deal going on with them for years. Plus I think Best Buy has some kind of deal going on with the SteelBook people and studios since they get a lot of exclusives .
Paranoia Agent SteelBook was originally a Best Buy timed exclusive as well .
Not sure if it’s the same for this and the Goblin Slayer SteelBook though as the Paranoia Agent one had a mass market scheduled later .
Vol 1 & 2 manga differences from the Anime
Only one major difference, is when Mitsuru tries to pilot with Zero Two to save the others in the pit, Nana refuses and has Hiro pilot with her, Nana’s reasoning being if something were to happen to Mitsuru, it would leave them down a Unit, so since technically Hiro’s piloted with her before and had minimal side effects. Same results as everyone down there is saved.
Been reading the manga as it’s being released over her, and just started volume 6.
Volume 5 covers up to episode 9 of the anime with slight differences (some abridging of the story and several scenes being different, like Ichigo getting rescued by Hiro in the cloud Klaxosaur instead of the other way around.)
Volume 6 starts with the introduction of the Klaxosaur Princess (which is different than the anime as well), so that would be episode 17.
The medal ceremony is held after Princess’s introduction, so interesting… I presume volume 6 is where the major deviations to the story begin…
Also, there’s a bonus art of Zorome and Miku in the Sainan High uniforms from To Love Ru!!!
Okay. I just completed the manga, and the only thing I can truly say is:
Listen to @Series5Ranger!!! THE MANGA ENDING WAS ABSOLUTELY LEAGUES ABOVE THE ANIME ENDING!!!
The honest only thing I didn’t like about it was:
The Klaxosaur Princess died…
She died in the anime as well, but still…
Freeing is rereleasing the Fishnet Bunny version of Zero Two.
