Did naming a movie “Gintama: The Movie: The Final Chapter: Be Forever Yorozuya” really fool you into thinking that Gintoki was done with anime?

Q, How did you find the voice for Shinsuke Takasugi from Gintama: The Movie? That’s probably my favorite performance from you in general.
A. Whoa. I haven’t thought about Gintama in quite a while. So, you’ve inspired me to go back and watch it again - and boy am I glad you did. I had forgotten how much fun that show is!
As far as Takasugi - he’s a great villain. I remember wanting to make sure he felt consumed and obsessed. For the most part he kept his cool. But when he was on the edge he had to feel dangerous. And a little unpredictable. It was a rewarding experience playing such a role. I’m stoked that you liked him!
On a side note: It was pure chance I even got to work on that title. At the time, I was back to working at an advertising agency at the time as a full-time copywriter. We did all the production at the end of the day, after hours. It makes me tired just thinking about it.
Thanks so much for asking!
