Animate Akihabara celebrates Nisekoi with a special display
Episode 19 –
[details=spoiler]Since Chitoge doesn’t want the part of Juliet, it goes to Kosaki. But I wonder how “impartial” the drawing actually was. Once it announced, Marika asks Kosaki to give her the role. Raku figured this would happen, but Kosaki says that she wants to keep the part, much to Raku’s surprise. Marika then chooses to be her understudy and that doesn’t sound like a good thing for Kosaki.
Raku is ecstatic that he will be playing Romeo to Kosaki’s Juliet, and perhaps just a little nervous as well. Then Kosaki sees him look over at Chitoge. When the first rehersal is announced, Chitoge is already gone and Raku goes after her. Since she has nothing to do with the play, she’s going home, alone. Raku tells her that they are supposed to be going home together and finally gets around to asking her why she turned down Juliet.
Chitoge is still acting oddly and Raku begins to ask her questions, saying that she can talk to him. Chitoge insists that she isn’t mad at him and reminds him that they aren’t a real couple, before walking away. Raku, still confused, goes back to the school. He was only worried about Chitoge. She didn’t need to be that way with him. He bumps into Kosaki and is a little distant with her. Kosaki also sees Chitoge walking away and comes to the conclusion that they are still fighting. She also begins to wonder how Raku truly feels about Chitoge.
The mystery of Raku having Chitoge’s picture is solved, and Kosaki feels better. Raku decides to put Chitoge and her attitude aside for the moment and throw himself into the play. But now that she knows the truth about the picture, Kosaki is very self-conscious around Raku and can’t concentrate on her lines. Chitoge looks up at the window of her classroom from outside and she’s holding a copy of the play. Laughter is coming from the classroom and she calls Raku an idiot.
Rehearsals continue with Marika jumping in as Juliet every chance she gets. An understudy needs practice too! But it still isn’t fair to Kosaki. Tsugumi steps in to remind Marika that Raku belongs to Chitoge. That gets Raku thinking about her again and he sees Chitoge outside, walking with a couple of other girls. He also sees Claude back in his favorite tree, and Claude does not look happy at all. But those thoughts are wiped away by the sight of Kosaki in her costume. She’s beautiful! He suddenly has a thought of how Chitoge would look in the costume, and berates himself.
Trouble starts to brew between the families and Raku tells Chitoge that they need to act like a couple once in a while. However, Chitoge says that she’s through with all the pretending. She doesn’t care about the families starting a war, she just doesn’t want anything to do with Raku. She doesn’t even want to talk to him anymore. And this is why she turned down Juliet. She just can’t pretend to be his lover, and insists that they are total strangers.
Chitoge’s words hurt Raku and makes him think. He wonders if she’s felt that way the entire time. Raku had at least thought they were friends and he thought that Chitoge felt the same way. But her attitude now makes Raku want to repay her in kind. He tells her that he never had any fun with her and all of his memories of spending time with her are fake ones. Raku even tells her that she isn’t the girl he could have made that promise with. So, fine, there’s no need to keep up the pretense any longer and they should talk to their fathers. Chitoge slaps Raku across the face. Everyone sees it too. Chitoge just turns around and walks away. Telling Kosaki that he needs some time alone, he walks off in the opposite direction. At the moment, Chitoge is hitting everything in sight and calls herself an idiot.
It’s the day of the festival, and almost time for the play. Kosaki is still wondering what happened between Raku and Chitoge, but Raku won’t talk about it. Kosaki wonders if Chitoge will even come to see the play. Chitoge has been recruited by another class to help out, but Kosaki doesn’t know that. Kosaki peeks out through the curtain, and when she sees all the people in the audience, she gets nervous again. She hopes she will be okay, and Raku will be with her.
An accident backstage injures Kosaki’s ankle and won’t be able to perform. Marika is at home with a bad cold. The teacher needs to think of something, and fast. Leaving Kosaki in the care of Raku, she goes off to come up with a plan. Kosaki is devastated. Not just for herself but for everyone that worked so hard on the play. If it ends up being canceled, she will feel horrible. For Kosaki’s sake, Raku will be damned if he lets them cancel the play.
Chitoge is making crepes and sadly wonders how things came to be this way. She regrets asking Raku if their relationship would have worked out at the beach that time. His answer is still ringing in her ears. Nothing can be done about it now anyway. Raku hates her. And her crepe is burning. A hand suddenly grabs her. It’s Raku! And he’s begging her to take Kosaki’s place as Juliet! Raku drags Chitoge outside and quickly explains the situation, telling her that she’s the only one that can play Juliet.
Raku talks to her some more and Chitoge brings up what he had said at the beach. Each of them thinks that they hate the other. Raku is confused. He said nothing at the beach that they hadn’t said to one another before. Then it dawns on him. His words had really hurt her. Raku now tells Chitoge that he doesn’t hate her, and apologizes for what he said at the beach. He tells her that he will be honest with her now and once again, he lists all of her faults and why she isn’t his type. However, he tells her again that he doesn’t hate her. Not at all. Chitoge understands now. She leans against Raku’s back and tells Romeo not to “cramp her style”. Raku just grins, and Chitoge smiles. I can’t wait to see this play![/details]
Episode 20 –
[details=spoiler]With their families in the audience, Raku and Chitoge begin to adlib their way through the play and turn it into a comedy. The narrator gets into the spirit and begins to adlib as well. I think Raku is about to murder Shu. LOL After a confession of love from Romeo’s servant backfires, “Josephine” shows up to confess her feelings to Romeo, and ends up getting the audience on her side. Now, Raku is annoyed with Marika – she was supposed to be home with a cold and is now making a bigger mess out of the play.
However, Raku manages to twist it around again and finally gets rid of Josephine. Romeo continues on to meet Juliet on her balcony, but another obstacle appears in the form of Claude, who claims to be Juliet’s older brother, Friedrich. He ends up slicing up the stage with his sword and the collapsing set ends the one sided fight. But Romeo is still standing!
Romeo finally makes it to the balcony and Juliet lets down a rope ladder for him. Chitoge finally admits to herself that she loves Raku. She puts her whole heart into her next lines. Romeo gives his lines and Juliet feels no hesitation when she tells Romeo that she loves him. But Raku has no idea that this is also Chitoge’s confession. The play ends up being a huge hit!
Afterwards, Raku and Chitoge get a chance to talk and Chitoge mentions how similar their situation is to the play. Raku points out that it isn’t quite the same. Chitoge apologizes for the way she’d been behaving recently, and tells Raku that she’s ready to go back to being the fake couple that hates each other. She will go back to the way she was before if Raku forgives her. Now it’s Raku’s turn to feel weird, but he hides it well, and it looks like things are back to normal between these two.
They decide to walk through the festival together and everyone recognizes Romeo and Juliet from the play, and congratulates them for doing such a great job. Raku is still trying to deal with his confusion. Their class has a party to celebrate and Chitoge is admired again for doing a great job. Ruri takes Kosaki to task for spraining her ankle and ruining her big chance with Raku. Tsugumi comes after Shu with her gun.
Ruri sends Raku to Kosaki with a crepe to give her another chance. They finally get to talk and Kosaki thanks him for making up with Chitoge and getting her to do the play. However, Kosaki is still a little disappointed that she didn’t get to play the part herself. Raku knows how much she wanted to and arranges a little surprise for her. On the school roof, at sunset, and with no audience, Romeo and Juliet meet and say their lines. It was very sweet and very romantic – until Kosaki tells Raku that he messed up his line. LOL Still, I’m glad things are back to normal all around, and of course nothing is really resolved. It would be nice to see this one continue.[/details]

Story and background
Raku and the girls are back! The hunt for the key to his heart and locket continues in the second season of this fan favorite anime series. Originally a popular manga serialized in Shonen Jump created by author Naoshi Komi, NISEKOI: (the second season of NISEKOI) features all the familiar characters from the first season joined by Kosaki’s younger sister Haru. With a new girl entering the equation, will it really be “more the merrier” for Raku? What will happen to this false [NISE] love [KOI]?
The cast all reprise their roles for the sequel, with Kouki Uchiyama once again as Raku Ichijo, Kana Hanazawa as Kosaki Onodera, and Nao Toyama as Chitoge Kirisaki. Kosaki’s younger sister, Haru, will be voiced by Ayane Sakura, who has also voiced Tsubaki Sawabe in Your lie in April and Eva Frost in TERRAFORMARS.
NISEKOI: will be available to audiences in North America, Central America, and South America.
