3rd Persona 3 Film’s 1st Teaser Video Features Ryōji

Persona 3 the Movie #3 Falling Down to open in Japan on April 4

The official website for the Persona 3 film series began streaming the first teaser video for Persona 3 the Movie #3 Falling Down on Saturday. The film will premiere in Japan on April 4.

Advance tickets for theater screenings went on sale in Japan on Saturday. People who attend theater screenings will receive a special reversible B2-size poster.

Keitaro Motonaga will take over as director for the third film, and Seiji Kishi will return as a supervisor. Toshihiro Kohama will return as art director, but his fellow art director from the second film Yoshio Tanioka will not.

Singer Yumi Kawamura and rapper Lotus Juice will perform the film’s main theme song, “Light in Starless Sky.” The song will be included on a CD in a special pre-reserved ticket and CD bundle that is available on the Persona 3 goods website, Jika Net Tanaka. The set (photo of cover seen below) will also be sold at the PERSONA SUPER LIVE 2015 ~ in Nihon Budokan -NIGHT OF THE PHANTOM- event in February.

“I kind of understand now… You’re afraid of losing things, right?”

The season turns to autumn. The fight of the protagonist and his group S.E.E.S. with the strange monsters Shadows is getting closer to an end. Makoto and his allies engage in life-or-death battles with Shadows in order to end the Dark Hour. Through the battles, some must face the deaths of friends and family, some must notice what precious things must be protected, and some must find meaning in the battles that have occured.

In front of Makoto, the mysterious transfer student Ryōji Mochizuki appears. When the group greets a new morning, the gears of fate begin to turn. A fight revolving around each of the heroes’ bonds begins…

The third film was announced at the end of the second film last summer, with a message reading, “comming soon” in misspelled English.

Import standard and collector’s editions to ship on March 11

Aniplex of America announced on Monday that it will release Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3 the Movie #2 Midsummer Knight’s Dream as an imported Blu-ray. Pre-orders are now open for both standard and collector’s editions shipping on March 11.

The standard edition will include the film along with trailers, commercials, and audio commentary. The collector’s edition will also include a soundtrack CD, art box with an illustration by character designer and animation director Keisuke Watabe, new cover art, 48-page booklet, 10 stickers, and three illustration cards.

The collector’s edition retails for US$99.98, but Aniplex is selling it at a sales price of US$79.98. The standard edition retails for US$74.98, but Aniplex is selling it at a sales price of US$59.98.

Tomomi Ishikawa directed the film at A-1 Pictures from scripts by Jun Kumagai with supervision by Seiji Kishi. Keisuke Watabe designed the characters for the film, and also served as animation director. Shoji Meguro and Tetsuya Kobayashi scored the soundtrack.

The film opened in Japan on June 7. The third film, Persona 3 the Movie #3 Falling Down, will premiere in Japan on April 4.

Aniplex of America released the first film in May.

Film gets home video release in Japan, N. America on March 11

Aniplex of America began streaming a subtitled trailer on Friday for the upcoming Persona 3 the Movie #2 Midsummer Knight’s Dream imported Blu-ray release. Pre-orders are now open for both standard and collector’s editions shipping on March 11.

The standard edition will include the film along with trailers, commercials, and audio commentary. The official website for the Persona 3 film series updated at midnight on Wednesday, and unveiled the first full trailer for Persona 3 the Movie #3 Falling Down on Saturday. The video features the movie’s main theme song, “Light in Starless Sky” by Lotus Juice and Yumi Kawamura.

The end of the Persona 3 the Movie #3 Falling Down film revealed that the next film will be the “final episode.” The image at the end of the film is of the Gekkōkan Academy rooftop, and features the message, “Coming soon.”
