###ANIME CREWS THAT REPRESENT YOUR #SQUADGOALS
1/6/2017 1:15:15 PM

There are some anime crews and ensembles that just have the BEST team chemistry. The show just wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for the energy of each character.

###SQUAD GOAL LEVEL ANIME TEAMS

###Haikyu!!

Few groups mesh together nearly as well as the boys of the Karasuno High volleyball team. IRL, you’ve probably experienced the joys and pains of winning and losing as a team, and the show’s strength is making you feel like you’re part of their journey.

###Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun

One of the many things that make Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun an amazing show is its cast of unforgettable and totally relatable characters. You have to admit that things just feel at peace in the world when Nozaki, Chiyo, and someone from the secret support crew are gathered around his table, quietly (or not so quietly) doing what it takes to make his manga great.

###Hakuōki ~Demon of the Floating Blossom~

The Shinsengumi are blade masters in public, but bros on base. You tend to form deep friendships with the folks you fight and bleed beside, but when they’re all fighting side-by-side in their sky blue coats, there is something kind of magical about it. Not to mention, it’s nice to have that one squad of “hot guy friends.”

###Tanaka-kun is Always Listless

Tanaka is someone who is magnetic by desperately trying not to be, and the people he attracts form a perfect squad: you have the hot girl, the tough tsundere, the hyper one, the two goofball friends, and the best bro. Despite the fact that Tanaka would much rather laze and nap, maybe they find him relaxing? Either way, when they’re together, the group has a natural synergy.

###Akame ga Kill!

When we first meet Night Raid, they’re an efficient killing machine that comes and goes with the shadows. They have a noble purpose without ever misconstruing the fact that they’re killers. Despite the grim nature of the work that brought them together, you can tell how close they are to each other. Every death is mourned, every victory is celebrated, and meals are best when they’re together.

###SHIROBAKO

This is the optimal group project, the ideal shift crew, and the team that will get stuff DONE. Seriously, when they were just in high school, Aoi and her friends put together their own anime. Now adults, these girls contribute different talents and skills to produce the real thing.

###Log Horizon

When you get transported to a video game world, the least you can do is have your best people around you, right? Shiroe and the members of his newly formed guild, Log Horizon, not only manage to figure out surviving in the world of Elder Tales, but they bond together to help establish a system of government, economy, and more. It’s nice when your anime crew is capable of not only saving the world but, you know, building it.

###TUESDAY NEW RELEASES: BEAUTIFUL BONES -SAKURAKO’S INVESTIGATION- COMPLETE COLLECTION
1/10/2017 9:23:56 AM

###Beautiful Bones -Sakurako’s Investigation- Complete Collection
Shotaro Tatewaki knows that Sakurako Kujo isn’t a normal person. After all, most young women have multiple interests revolving around things like work, fashion, and sports, but Sakurako is fixated on just one thing: bones. While she already has a huge collection of them, mostly animal, she’s always trying to gather more, especially those of the human variety. This can be quite a problem for Shotaro: especially since he and Sakurako have a positively unnatural aptitude for discovering dead bodies together. Fortunately, Sakurako is a naturally brilliant detective who unearths the mystery of what happened to the owners of those bones, but it’s up to Shotaro to make apologies for Sakurako’s odd quirks and tendency to make off with the evidence. It’s a grave business that can leave him literally bone-tired, but for the wheels of justice to turn, there are always more skeletons to be bared and new secrets to be exhumed in BEAUTIFUL BONES - SAKURAKO’S INVESTIGATION -.

###If the Zodiac Signs Were Sentai Filmworks Anime Titles…
1/13/2017 9:50:27 AM

We got this in our Facebook messages:
“Hey, I’m just throwing this as a suggestion. How about in a future post, you do a ‘The Zodiac signs as Anime’ post? With some of your titles both Old and New. It’d be awesome.”

Thanks for the suggestion @RachelSadlier! Let’s take a look at which anime titles match which Western zodiac signs.

###What’s Your (Anime Zodiac) Sign?

###Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)

Capricorns are known to be responsible and disciplined. When we think of a Sentai Filmworks anime title that embodies the spirit of this sign, we think of Hakuōki ~Demon of the Floating Blossom~. Who’s more responsible and disciplined than the Shinsengumi, right?

###Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

Aquarians are known for being independent, original, and a bit on the quirky side. Our vote is for ClassicaLoid, a comedy that goes to ridiculous heights and dramatic lows (sometimes in the same episode!). It’s a perfect show for the randomly inclined.

###Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

Pisces are known to be artistic and compassionate individuals. Their weaknesses tend to include indecisiveness and laziness. These traits make us think of The Pet Girl of Sakurasou. This silly, but heartfelt, show features a creative, but dysfunctional, artist as well as a cast of characters you can’t help but love.

###Aries (March 21 – April 19)

An Aries might be an IRL tsundere: their weaknesses include aggression, while their strengths lie in their courage, passion, and confidence. When we think of a show that might be an Aries, we think about the boys of Samurai Jam -Bakumatsu Rock-. Nothing gets these musical boys down, not even the fact that music is illegal.

###Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

It is said that a Taurus is reliable, patient, and responsible. We can’t help but consider Angelic Layer. This classic anime is one of CLAMP’s finest, featuring a girl and her “doll.” In the battle of Angels and their operators, patience, responsibility, and just a little bit of stubbornness, are key.

###Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

The sign of Gemini is often depicted as a set of twins. They are curious and adaptable… just like Cocona and Papika from FLIP FLAPPERS! The girls even slightly look like twins when they transform in Pure Illusion.

###Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

These folks are known to be pessimistic and suspicious; they are also known to be tenacious, imaginative, and loyal. Beautiful Bones –Sakurako’s Investigation- embodies the spirit of Cancer with the frighteningly intelligent Sakurako and her less-than-enthusiastic “assistant,” Shoutaro.

###Leo (July 23 – August 22)

Leos are known for being arrogant, stubborn, and self-centered. While there are several anime titles that come to mind (Himouto! Umaru-chan, anyone?), we thought about Koko from Golden Time, because, while Leos may be stubborn, they’re also passionate and creative individuals who don’t believe in boundaries.

###Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

We feel like the spirit of Virgo is embodied by the two protagonists of Maoyu. The red-headed Demon King is practical and diplomatic, and the Hero is loyal, but prone to worry. Between the two of them, they bring the classic traits of a Virgo to life.

###Libra (September 23 – October 22)

To a Libra, everything must be in a careful balance, and they’re known for being cooperative, diplomatic, and, oftentimes, non-confrontational. This reminds us of one of our favorites: Log Horizon. After all, diplomacy and balance are very important when keeping peace in the database.

###Scorpio (October 23 – November 22)

Known for being stubborn, jealous, and a little violent, a Scorpio may just be a yandere in the making! However, they’re also brave and passionate, making us think of the story behind Dog & Scissors. Natsuno is quite talented with her scissors, especially when disciplining her savior-turned-canine Kazuhito.

###Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

Anime has no shortage of girls and guys known for saying what’s on their mind, but the show we believe takes the title of Sagittarius is The World is Still Beautiful. The main character, Nike, is a generous and kind princess who is funny, impatient, and very outspoken, especially on political matters.

Q. Out of all the anime you have dubbed, which casting process took the longest?

A. The casting process is typically the same for each project. Projects with larger casts may take a bit longer, but we give each project the same amount of love, regardless of cast size.

Q. What’s your favorite CE so far?

A. Not announced yet ::evil cackle::

###10 ANIME SCREENSHOTS THAT STRONGLY RESEMBLE EMOJI
1/20/2017 9:23:52 AM

We could probably find 50 or 100 screenshots that strongly resemble emoji verrrry easily… BUT, for the sake of time, let’s go with our top ten!

###“Woman Gesturing No” Emoji (Matoi the Sacred Slayer)

Could this anime screenshot possibly look any closer to the “Woman Saying Nope” emoji? You put your foot down and tell ‘em who’s boss, Yuma-chin!

###“Neutral Face” Emoji (Haikyu!!)

We’ve all had a moment where the only possible response is, “Hm.” Hinata from Haikyu!! can relate.

###“Confounded Face” Emoji (Gugure! Kokkuri-san)

We don’t know what happened to make Kohina squinch her little face up like this, but someone should tell her that dolls shouldn’t look so disgusted.

###“Kissing Face” Emoji (My Love Story!!)

To be fair, most of Takeo’s faces look like emoji. This one might be the most amazing. Can we request an emoji set with ONLY Takeo’s facial expressions?

###“Grimacing Face” Emoji (WataMote)

“Grimacing” and “cringeworthy” is the pervasive theme in the anime WataMote. We don’t imagine many people could survive the level of embarrassment Kuroki accidentally puts herself through, but we stand by her and love her for her valiant efforts.

###“Smirking Face” (Girlish Number)

We could probably do an entire blog post filled with nothing but Chitose’s facial expressions during the anime Girlish Number. For the purposes of THIS blog, we couldn’t resist her Chitose-smirk.

###“OMG Face” Emoji (RIN-NE)

Rinne Rokudo has no shortage of OMG moments in his very chaotic life. In this anime screenshot, he and his sidekick Rokumon are both looking a little aghast.

###“Woman Wondering Face” Emoji (Uta no Prince-sama)

Throughout the Uta no Prince-sama series, Haruka tends to be in awe of her very talented pretty-boys. Looking at the screenshot from the anime below, you can almost hear her (and the emoji) giving a very bewildered, “Oooh!”

###“Fearful Face” Emoji (To Love Ru)

The “Fearful Face” emoji could easily be matched by most harem main characters, but we feel like poor Rito Yuki from the To Love Ru franchise takes the cake. He usually is fearing for his life throughout most of the anime.

###“Ghost” Emoji (Akame ga Kill!)

We’re just going to leave this one here without an explanation. If you require clarification, feel free to send us a Facebook message or reach out in the comments. Seriously, though, the similarities in the pose!

###Pick Out More Emojis for Us To Play With!
These days, emojis are a part of everyday communication, and, as anime fans, we really can’t help but see the resemblances in some of our favorite titles. What about you? Share your emoji-related revelations with us on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram.
