###Girls Beyond the Wasteland
Buntarou Hojo has a gift for envisioning plots and scenarios in his head, but when it comes to imagining a story for his own life, he has a bad case of writer’s block. Writing scripts for his high school’s drama department has given him a temporary outlet, but when school ends, what’s next? Just when Buntarou’s future seems its bleakest, classmate Sayuki Kuroda asks him to write for her bishoujo video game development group. Suddenly, all the pieces start to fall together, but as Buntarou and Sayuki recruit more girls (and one romantically challenged guy), they’ll find that the path through the wasteland of life is filled with more twists than any game. Expect the unexpected as making a computer-simulated romance becomes a real-world drama in GIRLS BEYOND THE WASTELAND!

There are many different types of sword fighters in anime and each sword user handles the style differently. Many of these characters have different reasons for picking up the blade, but each one of them handles it with grace.
###Akame (Akame ga Kill!)
Akame is the backbone of the rebellion against the corruption of the capital, with assassinations being her specialty. With Murasame, a sword bestowed with a fatal curse, all she needs to do is land one blow, and the curse, like a poison, finishes the assignment. The kills weigh heavily on her heart, but her sins are also her greatest trump card.
###Saito Hajime (Hakuōki ~Demon of the Floating Blossom~)
He’s deliberate in every move he makes and won’t let an enemy out of his sight. As a master of the left-hand technique, he cuts down his enemies without much effort. Loyal to the Shinsengumi, Saito’s usage of the sword comes with the utmost discipline.
###Ais Wallenstein (Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?)
As one of Orario’s strongest adventurers, Ais is known as the “Sword Princess.” Her prowess isn’t something to scoff at, and she was one of the fastest adventurers to get to Level 2, until Bell Cranel broke the record. Her fighting skills are legendary, and while a mysterious woman overall, Ais’ biggest hurdle is her ability to communicate with her fellow adventurers.
###Mirai Kuriyama (Beyond the Boundary)
Mirai has the ability to manipulate her blood, which has made her an outcast in the Spirit World. Her signature weapon is a sword formed from her blood, which she uses to fight. She even threatens Akihito with it when they first meet! Talk about first impressions…
###Ikki Kurogane (Chivalry of a Failed Knight)
Known as the “Worst One”, Ikki doesn’t have magical powers… which is pretty terrible when you’re at a magic school. What he lacks in magical prowess, he makes up for in his sword skills which allowed him to defeat the genius, Stella Vermillion. As the series progresses, we see Ikki advance in rankings thanks to his amazing sword technique.
###Saeko (High School of the Dead)
Saeko tends to look out for the wellbeing of the others in the group. As a strict follower of the bushido code, her ability with the sword is unparalleled. She strikes down zombies left and right without a thought, and her more sadistic tendencies tend to come out when she’s tearing down her enemies.
###Saber (Fate/Stay Night)
Being the reincarnation of King Arthur, provides Saber with charisma and swordsmanship to match. As she fights in the war, she proves to be more than capable of using her sword skills to take down an enemy.

Q. What are the chances you’d ever license Paranoia Agent? It’s been off the market for so long in NA, it’d be great if someone would pick it up.
A. Hmmm! Thanks for the suggestion. We can look into it?
Q. With you guys putting more of your shows on Anime Strike, does this mean you’re not gonna put anymore shows on Hulu?
A. Every show is dealt with on a case-by-case/show-by-show basis. Just because a show goes to one platform for a certain period of time doesn’t mean that every show will follow the pattern.
Q. You should definitely release collector editions of the Chunibyo & Beyond The Boundary movies. With stuff like postcards and posters and a Dark Flame Master figure and a Rikka plushie and a Mirai figure and a… you get the idea right?
A. We got the idea, but that’s a pretty tall order! Fitting a Rikka plushie and a Mirai figure into a chipboard box? Thanks for letting us know that’s what you want, but no promises! We’re trying to get these movies out to you as soon as possible.
Q. Almost all the #thedubsarecoming titles have been announced, when can we expect some dubs from anime from 2016?
A. Hmmmm… considering how well the element of surprise worked the FIRST time we released #thedubsarecoming, we think we won’t answer this in favor of keeping it a surprise for the right time.
Q. Will you be announcing anything new and interesting at Anime Boston?
A. We can’t give away secrets before they’re publicly announced, but we did mention that we licensed all three KyoAni movies.

###Is the Order a Rabbit? Season 2
It’s time to re-open the doors to Rabbit House, where good friends are ready to take on the next exciting adventure, and there’s always something unusual going on. After all, how many cafés have waitresses who collect firearms and a rabbit that actually talks? However, trouble may be burrowing into the Kafu residence when a magazine runs an article on places to eat and neglects to mention Rabbit House! Will an investigation into what’s been “haunting” Syaro’s house be a wild goose chase, or will someone get a lot of grey hare as a result? Is the sudden appearance of Cocoa’s big sister a blessing or a disaster waiting happen? Still, nothing is as scary as the prospect of graduating school! Will everyone make the grade, or will some friends be left behind? The tail will be told as Chino, Cocoa, Rize, and the gang all return in Is The Order A Rabbit?? Season 2!

Q. Do you guys plan to opening up your store for international orders? Rightstuf offers international shipping so they may be able to help you guys out since they ship for you guys.
A. Several international fans have brought this up, and while we don’t have an answer on any future plans for the Sentai Shop, we can say that we have noticed the demand.
Q. Have you guys started making your limited sets more limited? I love your Premium Box Sets but with so many sales happening the last few months I find it hard not to wait a few months for a price drop.
A. Limited means limited: a set quantity. Once they gone, they GONE. The box set for Love, Chunibyo, & Other Delusions sold out about last year; Persona 4 the Animation is pretty much sold out, and we’re thinking most of the No Game, No Life’s will be gone by the end of this year too. We can’t disclose the exact quantity of premium box sets created per title, but we only do one run. When they run out is up to the market.
Q. When is herlock six coming out for perorder Who do I write to for permission to show one or two of your titles at a con
A. Not familiar with the title you mentioned, as “Herlock Six” is not our database.

Q. Are you planning to get the licensing rights for two anime shows that came out this year, Nyanko Days and Hinako Note? I hope you guys get the licensing rights, as M.A.O, the voice of Papika from Flip Flappers also does the voice of Hinako, in Hinako Note. Just curious. Thanks.
A. We love M.A.O.! She also played the voice of Bada-chan in ClassicaLoid. We can’t talk about unannounced licenses on social/Ask.fm, but it’s good to know that there is interest in the two titles you mentioned.

###GET “EDUCATED” WITH THESE 5 HISTORICAL ANIME

Historical anime is a joy to watch, especially, when you’re learning too! It’s the one history lesson where we are avidly engaged with the content, and fascinated by the characters. These titles give life to an exciting history that we might not have otherwise known and gives us material to research on our own!
###Hakuōki ~Demon of the Fleeting Blossom~
Following the story of the Shinsengumi, Hakuōki adapts the historical end of the Edo period with some exciting changes. The main difference being the genetic experimentation on some of the Shinsengumi to create a super soldier. We follow along with historical events, including the attempted burning of Kyoto, the Boshin War, and the suppression of the Choshu revolutionaries.
###Samurai Jam: Bakumatsu Rock
Loosely based on historical figures in the Bakumatsu Era, they all have one thing in common: they love to jam out to rock. In this alternate history anime, we have historical figures like Sakamoto Ryoma (an insurgent), Hijikata Toshizo (Shinsengumi), and Yoshinobu Tokugawa (15th Head of the Tokugawa Shogunate). Each one of these characters, while not completely faithful to their historical counterparts, still hold some truth in their interactions with one another. Also, who doesn’t enjoy some rock and roll once in a while?
###ClassicaLoid
This comedic retelling of some of history’s famous composers hits the nail when it comes to faithful renditions of their work and personalities. In this slapstick comedy, we see these composers trying to make it in the real world while juggling their iconic past. The relationships are carried over, like Chopin and Liszt being buddies. We also love the Mozart’s (Motz-kun!) flirtatious tendencies followed him into this new life in Japan.
Set in the 1960’s, we follow the young medical student Hazama Kuroo and his foray into becoming the eventual back-alley surgeon, Black Jack. His story is intertwined with the development of the Vietnam War and the social upheaval that took the world by storm. With changing ideologies and warring countries, Young Black Jack presents a view of the political climate of 1960’s Japan.
###Intrigue in the Bakumatsu – Irohanihoheto
Another series featuring the end of the Edo period, we see the changes starting to take place with the unstable Shogunate trying to stay in power. The plays shown in this series take a more historical turn when they seem to be helping history along the right course. With a supernatural bent, we learn more about this fascinating time period.

###Undefeated Bahamut Chronicles
From the charred pieces of the corrupt Arcadia Empire, a new kingdom arose. To protect itself from future foes, the Kingdom of Atismata established the Royal Knight Academy to train warriors in the art of fighting with Drag-Rides, ancient mechanical dragons. The Academy has a catch though: it’s strictly a no-male school, and when the former prince of the ruined Empire, Lux, stumbles into the baths, he lands himself in a compromising situation with Lisesharte, the new kingdom’s princess. Understandably upset, she challenges him to a Drag-Ride duel, launching their lives into an explosive chain reaction that will expose the dark secrets of both royal families. Whether Lux is fighting off monsters, corruption, or his female classmates, things are sure to take flight into the unpredictable skies in UNDFEATED BAHAMUT CHRONICLE.

###ANIME TROPES: 9 SCENES YOU KNOW WILL HAPPEN IN ANIME

We’ve already discussed what you should expect if you were the main character of an anime, but what other scenes can you expect if you were ever trapped in an anime? We’ve played with the idea before…
…but let’s take a look at some specific anime tropes that you should prepare for.
###BRING ON THE ANIME TROPES
###Accidental Groping
You’ve tripped over something and have begun to tumble forward! Luckily, you saved yourself from falling by grabbing the first thing you should reach which was… bosom. FYI: this is technically only acceptable in anime. Bell-kun from Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? would never have gotten away with HALF of his accidents IRL.
###(Sometimes Accidental) Voyeurism
Similar to the accidental grope, you may find yourself in a place where you accidentally see someone changing. Watch at your own risk, as Kuon from Utawarerumono: The False Faces learned the hard way. One way or another, anime main characters tend to get glimpses of their co-star’s undies… or more.
###A Tsundere Will Get Pissed Off At You
Almost every anime has a tsundere with varying degrees of “tsun.” As an anime trope, you should probably prepare to have your head bitten off by a tsundere at some point, and it most likely won’t even be your fault. Maybe they just don’t like your face, or maybe your actions make them jealous enough to lash out, like Stella from ***Chivalry of a Failed Knight***.
###A Trip to the Beach, Hot Spring, or Pool
If you’re lucky, your anime hot spring episode won’t be in the OVA. This sublime anime trope guarantees a chance to see your favorite characters in swim trunks and swimsuits. Water-side shenanigans will ensue, and you might even catch a glimpse of the kuudere looking a little happy. Even Another had time for a beach episode!
###A Sports Day or Cultural Festival
This is a MUST when you’re a high school student in an anime. How else are you going to show off your skills and compete with your rival (which, if you’re the main character, you know you have one)? There’s also the heart-pounding drama of the relay race which, depending on the type of show you’re in, will either be really heartwarming or heartbreaking, like in ***Azumanga Daioh***.
###Wind and Lots of It
You can’t deliver dramatic lines or look pensively off into the distance from the school rooftop without your hair and clothes being dramatically whisked away into the wind. Ewww. To be fair, though, this anime trope is present in pretty much EVERY show, even shows as silly as ***Gugure! Kokkuri-san***.
###Hot Guys and Hot Girls
There will always be at least one SUPER hot guy or girl in any anime, so you know that there will be at least one scene where you’ll have to interact with them. Sometimes, the interaction will go well, and sometimes it won’t, like Erica’s experience with super hot Kyoya in ***Wolf Girl, Black Prince***.
###Kimono or Yukata Scene!
The summer festival, with its traditional games and festival foods, is a perfect opportunity to break out the yukata! You’ll get to see your fellow characters, maybe even your love interest, looking very different in traditional Japanese garb. Even the cast of Tanaka-kun is Always Listless will get traditional for a summer festival.
###Your Wardrobe Will Never Change!
Your hairstyle and wardrobe will stay the same. Get ready to live in your school uniform, or the same T-shirt for the rest of your season. With the obvious exception of a winter story, a vacation, or a festival, your wardrobe should be pretty set. How else are people going to know it’s you without your trademark main character hair cut, or, in Chitose’s case (***Girlish Number***), fried-egg sweater?

In my Middle School there was a language arts class that had 25 Girls and 1 Boy … me. Yes, you can accidentally grope someone, I did so in that class. Amazingly all I got was a smile and the question “Was it fun?” I smiled back, what else could I do?
