As much as I enjoyed this anime, I have to say I was extremely disappointed with the last episode. But all in all, it was a good watch.

Why were you all disappointed? I agree that the confession scene felt super forced and out of character for both of them but if we don’t get another season, I was ok with it

I wonder if why it felt bad was because the anime staff was working under the assumption that this might be the last anime related thing this series get, and they wanted to have something to give some form of closure for anime-only people. Maybe the source didn’t give them a good ending point to work with.

And @Series5Ranger. While the confession scene was a bit off, my biggest disappointment was they really didn’t go into Shikimori"s or Izumi’s backstories too much. Like, why was Izumi just as unlucky as he was? Was his family placed with a misfortune curse? If so, why was dad unaffected?
I know… If a season 2 happens, those questions could be answered, but still…
Also, the final scene being Shikimori saving him again, and him doing the spiel from the first episode just didn’t feel right to me… Almost like no changes had taken place to either of them during the course of the series…

The curse came from the mother. From what was shown in the anime, I would say that Izumi’s kid(s) is going to be REALLY unlucky (unless the curse is something that drops over time, then Izumi’s kid(s) will just be as unlucky in high as Izumi is now)
