…they really went ahead with that art for Soul Eater? Darn.

I don’t see Nobunaga the Fool on here. It does look like this is a very old list (January 15th).

Sadly, nothing on here seems all that appealing. So much blatant otaku pandering (lolis, faux-lolis, “wincest”, neets…), with a really jingoistic-anent-Japan show mixed in; that some of these shows are marked as “original” is hilarious, given their done-to-death premises.

Nobunaga The Fool is a 24+ ep series, so that’s why it’s listed already.

V.2 Chart is up.

Wow, that image mocks the Click to Enlarge function on TAN.

…reading these plot summaries again I have come to the conclusion that I might just be too normal to be an anime fan (neets, lolicon and wincest aren’t my “bag”). That, or this list just isn’t a good pre-evaluation tool for me.

Yeah, the TAN Click to Enlarge is rather limited in this respect.
That’s why both Series5Ranger and I posted the pic links.

So far the Sentai licenses seem to be shaping up to be:

TBS
(if they hold international rights)

● Blade & Soul ( http://www.tbs.co.jp/anime/blade )
● Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou ( http://www.tbs.co.jp/anime/kawaisou/ )
● Futsuu no Joshikousei ga [Locodol] Yatte Mita. ( http://www.tbs.co.jp/anime/locodol/ )

TOHO
(if they hold international rights)

● One Week Friends (Isshuukan Friends.) ( http://oneweekfriends.com/ )

BwMK has a tried 'n true premise, could be interesting. Blade and Soul, well, it isn’t moeblob.

Is it a given that Sentai has the series remake of Broken Blade?

…I’m surprised that this Fuuun Ishin Dai Shogun is just now getting an anime series as there was a big push with it years ago. I remember almost preordering figures from it. They took their sweet time. Could Sentai end up with it, strengthening their “lock” on all Meiji-era-ish shows? Better question might be: Can JC Staff make an anime that doesn’t cut corners on the animation?

As of this moment, Sentai has only ever licensed 1 alternate retelling of a series, and that was the Clannad movie.

It’s not out of the question, depending on how well the movie series did for them, but I would keep my hopes and expectations pretty low in regards to that one.

Yeah this one might go to Funimation due to Production IG’s involvement

I also think Funimation will try to Package deal Soul Eater Not!, Captain Earth, and Hitsugi no Chaika from Bones. Unless the new Chapter of Dragonball Kai eats up their budget for this quarter

It might turn out to be a Showgate title, like the movie series is, they tend to stick with same title series for the most part when they have the chance.

But even if it is a Showgate title like the previous series, that doesn’t guarantee it’ll be licensed anymore, especially after the past couple seasons.

After years of Funi staff and actors lamenting how Soul Eater didn’t do as well as they’d hoped I’d be surprised if Funi brought this out, outside of a package deal. I hope that, if they do, the Japanese won’t be as obsessed with the English dub as their micromanaging of it “lives in infamy”.
…I still have found no explanation as to why they made Karbowski voice a “bona fide” male character.

On one hand, since it is supposed to be an equal-length retelling of the movies/OVAs (?!), I can understand if Sentai didn’t pick up Broken Blade, though I’d be a bit disappointed. It would be humorous if Funimation picked it up and dubbed it though. Broken Blade needed some more “world building” so I hope that if they really do devote this series fully to simply retelling the same story that they at least do it from some new perspectives.

@Broken Blade: it’s not a retelling, it’s the same six movies cut down into tv size episodes with some new animation added to follow the manga more ‘faithfully’.

Soul Eater Not: we’ll seeing how they grabbed sequels to some of their S.A.V.E. releases, and the first series getting some exposure on Toonami, I can see this in their bag.

Hitsugi no Chaika just shot up on the “Going to be licensed by Funimation” list being that it’s a Kadowkawa release. Not a guarantee certainly, but Funimation is the main distributor of Kadokawa titles here in the states, and the fact that they can package deal with Date A Live II doesn’t hurt either.

Added Nisekoi to Aniplex listing as continuing.

…so it’ll be years before we see them in legal HD. :frowning:

Funi’s streaming really needs some help. Then again, I don’t know if it is that much worse than Crunchy’s low-fi “HD” streams. :frowning:
