###The Best and Worst of the Season So Far: Weeks of Apr 1-21
by Daniel DeLorme, Apr 26th 2016
Alright the first rankings of Spring 2016!
-
I think #1 will be a three-way fight between Kabaneri, Re:Zero and Academia. Amazing series.
-
Big Order near the bottom isn’t surprising. Ace Attorney on the other hand…well…I guess we’ll see overtime.
-
Kiznaiver I expect to pick up over time. I like this one and 14th isn’t bad. Same goes for Sakamoto. That show is too funny to miss. Lack of premieres hurts but the time will pass.
-
High School Fleet/Haifuri could very much be a Top 10 hit. I hope more see this.
I can’t say that I went into that one expecting it to be the loli Starship Operators that it turned out to be.
Hopefully it’ll be a 3-way fight for #1 between those shows. With the delay debacle + Amazon, I keep forgetting about “Attack on Train”. One of the reviews I read for it fashioned it “Titan for people who didn’t get Titan” and that’s how it is for me. Hopefully it’ll keep that appeal and still appeal to people who got Titan.
Re:Zero surprised me as getting 2 “trapped in a game” shows that were pretty good in back to back seasons wasn’t something that I expected.
Kabaneri is stylish, Wit Studio is firing on all cylinders with this one.
Re: Zero as long as they can keep us guessing and keep getting us to new save points every couple of episodes, I can see it doing well.
Academia is a great show, but I’d have more respect for it, if he was a hero without powers, Instead of All Might’s conveniently being able to be passed on to him.
Not watching High School Fleet, I’ll see if I can add it.
Surprised Twin Star Exorcist scored so low.
Same
It’s super early yet but people are often so quick to dump a show after 1 episode. It’d be an awful shame if Twin Star Exorcists falls into that void.
When it comes to these lists, there’s only so much room to impress.
Same here.
BTW, did All Might actually have another power of his own, or is the ability to make himself look bulked up part of what he passed on?
They never talked about that in the manga. I’m thinking it might be part of the power.

###The Best and Worst of the Season So Far: Week of Apr 22-28
by Daniel DeLorme, May 3rd 2016
Hmmm I think what stands out to me most here is a big jump for Kiznaiver into the top 10 and Iron Fortress dropping big in the opposite direction.
High School Fleet inches ever so closer to being in the top 10.
I can understand Attack on Train plummeting due to Ep 3. Episode 3 was very o_0. Surprise for me was that the voters and I were on the same wavelength.
Given the character design, I don’t quite get the “high school” part of High School Fleet

While some series did predictably well, there were definitely some surprising under-performers and over-performers
