MASSIVE NEWS FROM JAPAN: The Yamato Crew website just announced the forthcoming publication of fan club magazine Ship’s Log #13 like so:
New series full-scale startup! A special interview you can only read here!! An exclusive interview with the person who holds the key to the new series! Stay tuned to find out the person! To be published at the end of March!
So that’s it. Series 2 is officially a GO!!! The Interview should be translated in time for the April update at Cosmo DNA. (And now we know what Facebook added the “love” button for!)[/quote]
So it may not be Yutaka Izubuchi (RahXephon) at the helm for Series 2, Hoping it is, because he did a great job for Series 1, but if it’s not, I’m hoping his replacement is just as good.
The information in this article is not entirely accurate: It’ll be a series of movies just like 2199, then broken up into 26 TV episodes, just like 2199 was.
Interview with the Head Writer of 2202, Harutoshi Fukui
Edit: Knowing the death count of the original movie (Farewell to Yamato, and it’s basically everybody) and Yamato 2 (Mainly Shima dies but is resurrected by Teresa, but both Shinohara and Kato both die on the final attack on the Comet Empire in Yamato 2) I’m quite concerned how they will handle it, especially with Kato’s situation at the end of 2199.
