Well, I placed my preorder via Amazon. I didn’t have enough for free RightStuf shipping, and Amazon was cheaper. I’m also kinda irked at RightStuf as they define “ship my items as they become available” differently than I do
I hope it lives up to the hype of being “better than the first one”…and yes, I would like to know more
At the end of 2014 I finally got around to watching this and I enjoyed it. It was more serious (ie:no blatant Verhoven-style satire) than the original live action movies. The Sentai-actor-using dub was fun.
What was odd about the movie was that they turned Johnny Rico from a blonde into a dark-haired guy who looks like Snake Plissken/Solid Snake crossed with Adam Jensen (the CG faces in this really remind me of the CG faces in SquareEnix works).
I’d definitely recommend this with 60 Hz interpolation as it gets rid of the judder (which really hurt the panning scenes) and it helps fix the general choppiness of Japanese CG.

Why’d this have to be show theatrically on a Monday? Wish I could support it, but that date just doesn’t work for me.

February 10 opening with Rikiya Koyama, Sumire Uesaka, Kensho Ono, Eri Kitamura
I saw this on bluray a few weeks back. It seemed like it was targeted more for an American audience.
Dunno if I’d actually be interested in the Japanese dub for this. The 1997 live action movie actors did well, and the Sentai staples who comprised the bulk of the cast did as well.
