get your wrasslin’ off of the Science Fiction channel! this belongs on Travel Channel, NOT Anime Network.
TAN now another bait-and-switch channel like MTV, SciFi, History, Cartoon Network… no wonder Encore still doing great since the Western channel actually has westerns on it and they stick to their format.
feel like we have been a classic rock station that is getting turned into an easy listening station on the radio!
this better not be on VOD much longer as was mentioned when it was first scheduled… it hs no place except to waste being able to offer an actual anime. just another case like Vermillion Porn Nights…including upskirt panty shots on the bus.
Who made this show?
I don’t know why you’re hatin’ on this as it is hilarious with the overdubbing. I think Sentai is pretty well prepared for their eventual dub of Photo Kano lol. With no credits (why are there no credits?!), this is a fun game of guess the voice actor. Luckily all the voice actors so far have been instantly recognizable. Greg Ayres is hilarious in just about everything, especially when he’s overdubbing a panty-obsessed skirt-chaser and singing that bad Eddie Money song. The mystery I have is why was it overdubbed in the first place…? The random panty shots should have been left on the editing table…
BTW, even watching this in SD led to the issue where the audio worked normally but the video stopped every few seconds.

sometimes when I watch this show I want to lay in the grave and roll for a couple of hours, at least thats how i feel. on another hand it educates their viewers, so I will watch it until the end I guess
I originally thought this show was an old ADV featurette resurrected just for the hell of it and put on VOD – Wrong. This stuff looks fairly recent as they talk about a tower being constructed in 2011 and there’s even Evangelion 2.22 pachinko machines.
I’m curious about this show - how the heck did this got greenlit ? The idea is good but the execution is atrocious. Those three goofballs are already annoying in the first place, the ridiculous dub only makes it worse.
What was the name of the original show ? Looks like it was made in Denmark or something.
Really?! The technology showcased in Episode 1, the tech in Japan, looked so old and low-tech; being impressed by a cheapy looking sedan having an automatic door in 2011+ is just absurd.
I also thought that this was an old ADV product, and I was cutting the show (and the dub) some serious slack because of that. Looks as though I’ll have to re-evaluate that.
I find the dub kind of annoying, but I presume it’s based on a parody of American tourists in Japan, intended for a Japan audience, and the humor doesn’t translate that well.
That would explain stuff like being impressed by an automatic door, too - around here the only vehicles like that are busses and even those are usually mechanically activated by the driver. Would also explain why when they tell you what to say in Japanese they gloss over it quickly and there’s no phonetic graphic or anything to help you actually learn the phrases.
But it’s kind of too bad because some of the things they show you are actually pretty interesting.
There’s just no way that this can be modern-era Japan. It’s teeming with low tech stuff and it just looks so dirty.
Similarly, I don’t want to believe that this is a Sentai Filmworks-era dub as this is pretty weak. Some bits are sort of funny but the rest is pretty slapdash. I’m not sure if it falls into the “purposefully slapdash to ‘make it funny’” category as I don’t understand that sort of humor (just as I don’t quite get the related idea of “watching something ironically”).
I can definitely agree with this being for a Japanese audience given the pandering to a certain clothing fetish that the Japanese are known for. If they throw (since I haven’t seen the whole thing yet) in some sister complex/“wincest” then I’ll have no doubt that this show was intended for them.
Well, unless the idea is these baka gajin think that outdated junk is the latest technology…
I kind of like the series. I’m trying to figure out who is the dubbed voice for the tall guy. I was thinking it is Illich Guardiola, but I wasn’t sure.
You’re correct, meL``
At first I didn’t really like this overdubbing, but I just ended up getting used to it, especially because of the voice actors. It’s like one big walla session.
It’s informative in a way and I kind of find this interesting so I’m going to continue to watch it``
