For days now, all I’ve seen on Twitter is pleading by the Japanese to stop making false statements about who perished in the fire. The Japanese do things much more differently than we do. They take their time to identify people and then it’s up to the families to decide whether to announce it. Even after they announce it to the Japanese media, they still don’t want it to be “big news”. I can’t confirm it right now, if it’s true we’ll see it in the Anime news section of our more trusted news sites. Besides the article you referenced, I’ve only seen it referred to with links from Reddit (who I don’t consider to be “trusted”). I don’t know anything about the site you linked and don’t know their reputation, but I’m sure we’ll be hearing more news about it soon.

Yeah. It was in my Google thread this evening. He directed the series that literally helped me when my depression was at it’s peak (aka Lucky Star). It’s gotten me through so many hard days, and reading that just made my heart drop.
I’m seriously crying right now typing this.
