The Claim Your Bishoujo/Bishounen! Early Alert System has been activated!
As we will begin the 500th round of the Claim Your Bishoujo/Bishounen!: The Sequel (formerly the Claim Your Bishoujo/Bishounen!: The Reboot game) tomorrow, I’m declaring a special five part round—one day for each of the 100 rounds that have preceded this round. I think this may be the biggest celebration ever held by CYBB.
Here’s how each round will work:
Friday, January 10 (500a): You may claim one character as usual—but, that character will have to be from a series that aired in 2010, the year the Claim Your Bishoujo/Bishounen!: The Reboot game began. If you’re not familiar with the anime from 2010, here’s a list: https://www.anime-planet.com/anime/years/2010 Make sure to check your claim against the Series list that Hornet 65 has been so faithfully maintaining for many years: https://hornet65.github.io/CYB_Series.html
Saturday, January 11(500b): You may claim two characters today. The second must be the opposite gender of the first claim.
Sunday, January 12 (500c): You may claim three characters today, but only if you release one character you already have. There will be no gifting of those characters and (as always.) they will be available for immediate claiming by another player—so choose wisely. Otherwise, you only get two claims.
Monday, January 13 (500d): You may claim up to four characters this round—but they all have to be from the same anime/manga/VN. If you have a group of any sort you want to claim, this is your big chance!
Tuesday, January 14 (500e): You may claim any person, place, or thing from an anime/manga/VN that you want. Literally anything at all. You can of course just claim a character this round like you would any other, but a round this broad in scope comes around rarely, so make it count!
As always, you may post your claims each day or save them all up for one massive post—just get them posted before 9:00 PM ET/8:00 PM PT on Friday, January 17th or forever hold your peace.

As I’ve said before, I’m patient. In doing some research for the Round 500 celebration, I discovered that Anime-Planet can sort anime by year, among other categories. I also discovered that they list PVs (promotional videos) that are anime themselves and are related to anime series. Therefore, I searched for the PV of the Domestic Girlfriend opening, Crying for Rain, from which I claimed the MC. I found this: https://www.anime-planet.com/anime/minami-kawaki-wo-ameku
So, have I made my case?
It’s a music video for a song used in Domestic Girlfriend. It is not a PV for Domestic Girlfriend. It’s true that Anime-Planet lists PVs, but they also list Music Videos.

Could I or someone else claim characters from these videos? They’re not PVs for an anime, and in all these examples at least, none of the songs originate in Japan, but the animation was done by a Japanese studio.
Just because the song is used in an anime, does not mean the music video is also tied to the anime. I used the example last time, but if Roundabout, which is used in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure were to have an anime music video created for it, that wouldn’t make it automatically a PV for Jojo, it would just be a music video that uses anime. Your music video is just a music video. Not a PV.
That said, If you want to allow your music video, then that’s fine, but you have to allow all music videos like it as well.
