Round 626:
Urushi Yaotome from When Will Ayumu Make His Move?
Round 626
This week, I claim Virginia Robertson, from League of Nations Air Force Aviation Magic Band Luminous Witches:
Used a tweet pic of my claim
Round 626
Raphtalia - The Rising of the Shield Hero
Typically when alphabetizing, you ignore initial articles such as The, A, and An.
In this case, the title The Rising of the Shield Hero would be alphabetized under R.
Technically this should also be done with titles beginning with A and An, but it wasn’t like that when I took over the list, so I just went with it. I could do it now, but… probably not.
Round 626
Himuro from Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague
Yeah… I was pretty militant with not putting series starting in “The” in the “T” section but had a bit of a blind eye to the “A” and “An” situation. Sorry.
It’s not a “gotcha” situation. It’s a “proper maintenance of the lists” situation (as discussed elsewhere in this thread.)
It’s a good idea to do a CTL+F search on the lists to locate what you’re looking for. It’s much more efficent than blindly scrolling through the lists.
Best practice is to do a CTL+F search on this topic. It picks up both terms Hornet hasn’t had a chance to add to the lists as well as picks either of us (as I used to maintain the lists before Hornet took over) may have overlooked.
See, even old dogs can learn new tricks!
CR does put the The with the T’s and it makes the “T” section in their title listings the longest of the bunch lol
It took me a long while, but I finally got Anime Network and now HIDIVE to not use the “T” for titles with “The” at the beginning. Every once in a while, one slips through, but I get right on it and have them move it.
I think Crunchyroll was my inspiration for not doing that!
Yes, that is pretty awful! LOL However, many sites do that. It is because they use the computer to alphabetize and the computer just sees letters and not words. So the proper placement of “the”, “a”, and “an” gets messed up. Until someone comes up with a better alpha order program or goes in manually to fix it, it is always going to be messy.
All it would take is a bit of code saying to ignore “The” when it occurs at the beginning of a title. You could probably do the same for the standalone “A” and “An.”
Someone that could come up with that may be making a lot of money in the future!! LOL
Round 626
This week is another Kentaro Yabuki cutie!
Yami: “She’s a bit peculiar, as technically she’s the past version of a character we claimed in Round 600, however, not only does she interact with herself from the present time, Kentaro himself confirmed she is her own separate character!”
Plus, her design is based on a goddess!
Yami: “Maou… ”
Both: “This week, we claim Kanade from Ayakashi Triangle!”
Yami and Kanade!!!
Suzu and Kanade in her neko form!
Round 626
Aleksandr - The Thousand Musketeers
Round 627
It’s officially the Summer 2022 anime season. New Season means new idols, and my first idol pick is Asahi Mogami, the ethereal idol of Phantom of the Idol:
