Disney-Pixar’s Inside Out will be arriving on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on October 13, followed by Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray Combo Pack and On-Demand releases on November 3. Among the extensive list of bonus features are a behind the scenes look at how women filmmakers made their way to careers at the acclaimed studio, and an all-new animated short titled Riley’s First Date?

Directed by Pete Docter, Inside Out largely takes place inside the mind of young Riley, whose happy life is turned upside down when her family moves to San Francisco. The stars are Riley’s emotions Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black) and Disgust (Mindy Kaling), who struggle to keep on top of the upheaval in Riley’s life and bring balance to her mental state, represented by ever-shifting fantastical lands of imagination and memory inside her head.

Blu-ray bonus features include Riley’s First Date?, theatrical short LAVA, Story of the Story with Pete Docter, Paths to Pixar: The Women of Inside Out, Mixed Emotions with the filmmakers, Mapping the Mind with the artists, Our Dads, the Filmmakers with Elie Docter and composer Michael Giacchino’s daughter Grace Giacchino, Into the Unknown: The Sound of Inside Out with sound designer Ren Klyce, The Misunderstood Art of Animation Film Editing, four deleted scenes, commentary with Pete Docter, Ronnie del Carmen and producer Jonas Rivera, Mind Candy interstitials montage, and trailers.

The Disney Movies Anywhere release will include the exclusive features Designing Abstract Thought with character designer Albert Lozano and two unique deleted scenes: “Joy Alone” and “Imagination Park.”

Disney Announces ‘Gigantic,’ Its Version of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’
By Scott Thill Saturday August 15, 2015 2:25 am

How do you like them seeds? Disney is rebooting Jack and the Beanstalk for 2018.

Set in Spain during the Age of Exploration and helmed by Tangled co-director Nathan Greno, Gigantic is also produced by Meet the Robinsons and Get a Horse!’s Dorothy McKim, so it’s got some credibility in the period adventure department. Which is good, because everyone has pretty much heard the classic English fairytale before.

“We want to make the definitive version of Jack And The Beanstalk,” said Greno at Disney’s D23 Expo. No cast has been announced, although Disney has secured the services of Frozen’s husband-and-wife songwriting team Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

In Disney’s version, Jack discovers a world of giants up in the clouds, and teams up with Inma, a 60-foot-tall, 11-year-old girl, agreeing to help her find her way home. “It’s not what you’ve seen before,” Greno promised. “It’s not one big castle with one big giant walking around.”

The most recent full-length movie version of the Jack and the Beanstalk tale was Bryan Singer’s 2013 live-action/CGI hybrid Jack the Giant Slayer, although the story and its characters also played a role in Disney’s 2014 musical Into the Woods.
