[quote]via press release:
DISNEY XD ORDERS SECOND SEASON OF HIT ANIMATED SERIES
“MARVEL’S AVENGERS ASSEMBLE” AND
“MARVEL’S HULK AND THE AGENTS OF S.M.A.S.H.”
Disney XD has ordered a second season of its popular animated series on the Marvel Universe programming block, “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble” and “Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.” It was announced today by Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television, at San Diego Comic-Con. Produced by Marvel Television, some of Marvel’s most popular super heroes – the all-star Avengers and hard-hitting Hulks – will return to take on their most high-stakes battles yet. Both series are in production and slated to premiere this fall on Marvel Universe on Disney XD.
Season two of “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble” takes the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to all-newheights, as the threat of the cosmic warlord Thanos hangs over the team, threatening to destroy them. The Avengers will have to unite and wield their powers to defeat some of the most infamous villains in what promises to be the super heroes’ greatest challenge yet. The voice cast includes: Adrian Pasdar (“Heroes”) as Iron Man, Fred Tatasciore (“Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness”) as Hulk, Roger Craig Smith (“Wreck-It Ralph”) as Captain America, Travis Willingham (“Shelf Life”) as Thor, Troy Baker (“Ultimate Spider-Man”) as Hawkeye, Laura Bailey (“The Super Hero Squad Show”) as Black Widow and Bumper Robinson (“The Game”) as Falcon. Man of Action Studios (“Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man,” “Ben 10″) – comprised of Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle – will serve as co-executive producer.
HULK AND THE AGENTS OF S.M.A.S.H.“Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.” season two continues to pack a punch with thrilling, super-sized missions led by larger-than-life Hulk and his incredible team, including She-Hulk, Red Hulk, A-Bomb and Skaar. The second season finds the Hulks smashing into one of the biggest, most epic stories ever as “Planet Hulk” changes everything for the Agents and sets the course for a looming cosmic catastrophe.

Produced by Marvel Television, the series stars Peter Quill as Star-Lord, the brash adventurer who, to save the universe from its greatest threats, joins forces with a quartet of disparate misfits – fan-favorite Rocket Raccoon, a tree-like humanoid named Groot, the enigmatic, expert fighter Gamora and the rough-edged warrior Drax the Destroyer. The series will premiere in 2015 on the Marvel Universe programming block on Disney XD.
That’s great news. I’m looking forward to those new seasons next year. Topped with new entry Guardians of the Galaxy, The Marvel Universe block will continue to have a long, prosperous life on Disney XD despite whether or not Hulk/S.M.A.S.H is finished after this current season.
Now I’m curious as to when Web Warriors will resume premieres.
The Marvel Animated Universe is going cosmic this autumn, with a Sept. 26 premiere date on Disney XD now set for its upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy animated series.
Leading up to the premiere, Disney XD will broadcast throughout August 10 shorts introducing the series’ characters. The schedule for the shorts is:
Aug. 1: Star-Lord – Part 1 (8:58 p.m., ET/PT) & Part 2 (10:28 p.m., ET/PT) Aug. 8: Groot – Part 1 (8:58 p.m., ET/PT) & Part 2 (9:58 p.m., ET/PT) Aug. 15: Rocket Raccoon – Part 1 (8:58 p.m., ET/PT) & Part 2 (9:58 p.m., ET/PT) Aug. 22: Drax – Part 1 (8:58 p.m., ET/PT) & Part 2 (9:58 p.m., ET/PT) Aug. 29: Gamora – Part 1 (8:58 p.m., ET/PT) & Part 2 (9:58 p.m., ET/PT)
The series is based on both the comic book series and last year’s hit live-action feature film. Marvel states the series “follows the newly-formed team who finds a strange artifact keyed only to the DNA of Peter Quill. Upon opening it, Quill unleashes a treasure map leading to a powerful weapon known as the Cosmic Seed, which is capable of giving birth to the next universe. It’s up to the Guardians to find, protect and ultimately destroy the Cosmic Seed in order to keep it out of the hands of those who would abuse its power, from galactic big boss Thanos, to the conniving brothers the Collector and the Grandmaster, to a resurrected Ronan, to the ultimate trickster, Loki, in order to save the universe.”
Produced by Marvel Animation, the series is created by executive producers Alan Fine (Marvel’s The Avengers, Iron Man, Thor), Dan Buckley (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.), Joe Quesada (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble) and Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.); co-executive producers Stan Lee (Spider-Man), Eric Radomski (Spawn, Marvel’s Avengers Assemble), Cort Lane (Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man) and Stephen Wacker (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble); supervising producers Marty Isenberg (Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Master) and Harrison Wilcox (Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.); consulting producer Steven Melching (Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.); and supervising director Leo Riley (Tron: Uprising).
The voice cast features Will Friedle as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Trevor Devall as Rocket Raccoon, Vanessa Marshall as Gamora, David Sobolov as Drax the Destroyer, Kevin Michael Richardson as Groot and James Arnold Taylor as Yondu and Cosmo.
Disney XD will follow that up with a sneak peek at the first episode Sept. 5 at 9 p.m.
The Sept. 26 premiere will feature the first two episodes, aired back to back starting at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT. The next day, the episodes will be available to WATCH Disney XD users.
