Now…

Think they’re gonna keep all the dub cast?

If you’re wondering I’m about 95% certain this is Sony’s connection to Kadokawa who own the studio handling the Animation production and the guy from them that was saying Sentai/HIDIVE was not paying what they were wanting for stuff.

Speculation on my part but to many dots connecting for my taste.

This worries me for us getting more seasons of shows for some shows on HIDIVE.
Again Speculation on my part.

Funimation did for Log Horizon so I don’t see why not as most of the cast has worked with CR before as well

By the way they probably asked for way too much for Season 3 then. Usually in the contract they have what you would call a Right of First Refusal for a subsequent season or sequel series, which means they basically have to give the previous season licensee the first look at how much they want for a sequel series. (It also means they may have asked for way too much intentionally to get HiDive to bow out of licensing it, There are possible anti Trust issues but they would have to be the ones to prove it, which would be incredibly difficult)

Anyway, wotking with Kadokawa going forward is going to be the suck, unless they can be on the production committee like with Petals of Reincarnation

They won’t have the translation skills of Ian Fagan, either. I wonder if Jake Jung will be hired, though. I wouldn’t blame him if he did.

HIDIVE TO SIMULCAST [OSHI NO KO] SEASON 3

January 13, 2026 at 2:39 PM

HOUSTON, TXJanuary 13, 2025 — AMC Networks’ HIDIVE announced today that the highly-anticipated Season 3 of 【OSHI NO KO】 will stream on the anime service this January. Adapted from the award-winning seinen manga created by Aka Akasaka, 【OSHI NO KO】 was an overnight sensation with fans and critics alike when it first debuted in April 2023 on HIDIVE — garnering accolades from major entertainment outlets including ScreenRant, IGN, CBR and ComicBook.com as well as vaulting to “Number 1” in the fan-driven ranking on MyAnimeList. 【OSHI NO KO】 Season 3 will premiere this January as part of HIDIVE’s Winter 2026 simulcast season and will be available to subscribers in both the U.S. and Canada as well as key overseas markets including the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Episode schedule information will be released soon.

The story enters a new stage… Six months have passed since the release of “POP IN 2.” Thanks to MEMcho’s efforts, B-Komachi is now on the verge of a breakthrough. Aqua is steadily progressing as a multi-talented artist and Akane is on her way to becoming a skilled actress. Meanwhile, Kana has lost her former cheerful demeanor. And Ruby is climbing the ranks of the entertainment industry while pursuing the truth behind the deaths of Ai and Gorou — using lies as a weapon.

【OSHI NO KO】 is adapted from the manga title written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, which concluded with the publication of its final chapter in Shueisha’s Young Jump Comics on November 14, 2024. The anime series is directed by Daisuke Hiramaki together with series composition by Jin Tanaka and animation production by Doga Kobo. 【OSHI NO KO】stars Takeo Otsuka as Aqua, Yurie Ikoma as Ruby, Megumi Han as Kana Arima, Manaka Iwami as Akane Kurokawa and Rumi Okubo as MEMcho.

I’m kinda curious to know why it’s this way. Mainly that CR announced it a long time ago (long enough I think we learned the release date of season 3 from them), but HiDive basically waited until the week of the episode going live.

Either it’s a case of someone else has the rights, and CR was just the first to be able to announce the streaming rights, or Sentai got it, but HiDive itself couldn’t announce they had it for reasons.

Looks like the S1 LE set sold out on th4 Sentai store right now. I got it in from PopMarket today since they had it cheaper. It is a nice set and could see why they’d not over print as I imagine with all the extra stuff it’d cost a bit. Still figured it’d last a bit longer given the cost.
