The official Twitter account for Persona 3 The Movie #1 Spring of Birth, the first anime film of Atlusâs Persona 3 RPG, announced on Saturday that the Blu-ray and DVD release of the film will include seven minutes of footage that was cut from the film in theaters. The cut was made due to âvarious circumstances,â despite these scenes being âwell-known to fans.â According to the staff, some clips from these scenes appear in the commercials for the film.
The main disc of the limited edition of the Blu-ray and DVD release will include the full directorâs cut of the film with the seven minutes of cut footage, a collection of promotional videos and commercials, and audio commentary.
The limited edition Blu-ray and DVD release will also bundle the original theatrical cut of the film, an original soundtrack CD which includes the ending theme song âMore Than One Heartâ by Yumi Kawamura and background music tracks, a box with three sides illustrated with new art by Keisuke Watabe, a âDigi Jacketâ with original art, a 48-page booklet, 10 âSuper P3 Stickers,â (one exclusive to the bundle, and nine from the theater bonuses chosen at random), and four illustration cards featuring key visuals for the first film.
The normal version of the film on Blu-ray and DVD will only contain the audio commentary and special footage, excluding the version of the film only screened in theaters.
The film will go on sale in Japan on May 14. The limited edition Blu-ray and DVD packs will sell for 8,400 yen (about US$84) and 7,350 yen (US$73), respectively. The normal editions of the film will retail for 6,300 yen (US$63) on Blu-ray and 5,250 yen (US$52) on DVD.

Collectorâs, Standard Editions to ship on May 20
Oh for crying out loud AoA, if youâre going to release it yourselves at least dub it.
A booklet that comes with a smaller booklet to translate the larger? That achieves levels of ridiculous on par with Hank Hillâs small can of WD40 to loosen the big can of WD40. AoA will include a booklet that translates another booklet but canât be bothered to slap some subtitles on the video content?
Why release a half-baked (but fully priced) import version now and a dubbed, âprimoâ edition down the road when you can just do it right the first time? AoA canât âgo Geneonâ fast enough.
