It is into this pack of wolves that Ryunosuke Ibuki is dragged by the rabid Serizawa. Forced to be a virtual slave by blood debt, he hates the samurai and everything they stand for. Unless that’s a typo, it’s looking like they didn’t pick up the 4 episode Michi Random arc.

KOKORO CONNECT for me

The one I was waiting for before I made my sale purchase.

Kokoro Connect and Campione! right now. Might even look into the Hakuoki series.

Nothing of for me from now till at least November. I still have a few past release animes I was kinda interested in. I am going to look really good later for anything I missed that I must have.

Nothing really cries out to me on this list. Depending upon how I feel about Horizon after I finish Part 1 I might pick up part 2. I’m also not really familiar with this Campione! title so I might end up picking it up once I gain some familiarity with it. Sadly there are no “insta-buys” for me on it as there were on the previous “slates”, like Elfen Lied BD & Golgo 13 BD.

I might finally get that Wings of Honneamise as I have yet to see it, despite its fame (I blame the ANN answerman’s adulation of it for this). A Sentai/Maiden logo on the box makes it instantly more appealing than it ever was with the old Bandai Visual logo.

Gatchaman is a down right steal for even the full price. Managed to snag it during sale and got anime for $80.99. Probably one of the greatest dubs ADV did and I believe the longest series they dubbed that was actually released in full. Guessing the OVA is the same as the stand alone release so did not order it. Wonder if they will use any of the Alex Ross art from the old ADV collectors boxes and include the extras from the 9 disc of extra’s ?

I already have the entire Gatchaman Series 1 from ADV so ended up Ordering just the OVA Set (which I don’t have), and wanted to get Campione! so I ordered the Blu-Ray on that.

For those like me, that are curious about the Kokoro Connect OVAs, WTK got confirmation about them and posted on FP.

http://www.fandompost.com/oldforums/showthread.php?12758-Sentai-Filmworks-licenses-Kokoro-Connect&p=189934&viewfull=1#post189934
I got confirmation of the remaining unreleased episodes. Episodes 14 to 17 will be released separately. Release time frame is not known at this time.
So at least we are actually getting them.
We just have to wait.

Should’ve been included but I’m not gonna complain. I’ll buy KC and be happy.

I find it hard to believe that this had one of the best dubs ever.

I vaguely remember seeing some of this and I don’t remember it being anywhere close to a “good” show. Campy and (now) nostalgic, sure.

Of course, when I think of this I can’t help but think of the horrible “abridged”-style spoof of it that was around in the 90s and still surfaces at cons and makes appearances on the internet today, the one where Deep Purple is kidnapped and used for evil. If you aren’t familiar with this, you’re lucky.

EDIT: Again, Rightstuf’s “super sales” are bogus as the sale has now ended and anyone can buy Gatchaman on BD for $80.99 from them. Savings from that sale? $0.00.

With the way it looks, chances are it was either a Starchild decision or a completey seperate license.
I’d probably go with it being a Starchild decision though.

It’s all a matter of being able to enjoy the campy nature of the show. Dub actually has a good chunk of the VA’s ADV used over the years. I believe there is only a handful missing. I grew up with two versions of the series Battle of the Planets and G-Force: Guardians of Space. It was great to finally get a uncensored and more accurate translation of the show. I actually have all 9 of the original box sets actually only paid $5.00 more then what I will for it on Blu-ray. Is it the greatest show , no maybe not , but the way they did the dub to me seems like a labor of love and I appreciate them doing it the way they did. They did slip some typical ADV creativity into it.

Actually once the excluded from membership thing is put up it will be $89.99. Which is what someone would pay during a sale if they did not have got Anime. The savings were a lot more stand out when they used to not have the pre-orders in the weekly specials and back when stuff was only discounted 10% instead of the I think it’s 25% off retail now. You should always take total discount from retail in to account when looking at it.

At some point I’ll have to check it out, to see how I would rank it in the Pantheon of ADV/Sentai-era dubs. I’d like to see how the image quality is on the BD as I remember this show looking pretty awful back when I saw it. This is likely due to how I saw it but I still think of this show as looking so bad as so to make Voltron look like Attack on Titan by comparison.

Speaking of which, I can’t say that I’m a fan of the “not final” cover art on RightStuf as it does not look like the show. It irks me when that happens, and this would be the 2nd time Sentai/Maiden has done that this year as I recall, looking back at Ruin Explorers.

So the only reason that the non-sale price will be greater than the sale price in the foreseeable future is that RightStuf will revoke the discount? Sheesh, that’s low. C’mon RightStuf, you tell us about all the Explore the Ultimate Anime & Manga Shop | Crunchyroll Store, you talk about how Explore the Ultimate Anime & Manga Shop | Crunchyroll Store (and how this will save us money), but then you take away our discount “just because”?
