Ally struggles to ascertain whether targeted attacks on her are real or merely hallucinations manifested by her phobias. Ally’s paranoia and turmoil, escalated by suspicious activities perpetrated by new neighbors Harrison (Billy Eichner) and Meadow Wilton (Leslie Grossman), hinder her relationships with her wife and her son. The violent actions of the clowns solidify Kai’s campaign rhetoric. Local news reporter Beverly Hope’s (Adina Porter) intensive coverage alerts the public of the brutality befalling Brookfield Heights.
Depictions of true cults, including the Peoples Temple and the Manson Family, mirror the affairs of a fledging Brookfield Heights extremist group comprised of individuals fed up with the political climate of the United States.
