The now-classic tearjerker we all know and love, AnoHana, is getting itself a live-action TV special, and after revealing the TV show’s main cast, the kids playing their childhood counterparts have also been revealed.
From left to right, here are the child actors playing the younger versions of the main cast: Santa Takahashi as Tetsudoi “Poppo” Hisakawa, Chinami Yoshioka as Naruko “Anaru” Anjou, Minamide Ryouka as Jinta “Jintan” Yadomi, Kanon Tani as Meiko “Menma” Honma, Ruiki Satou as Atsumu “Yukiatsu” Matsuyuki, Karen Ichihara as Chiriko “Tsuruko” Tsurumi.
It was also teased that the first scene for the TV special will be held in the famous poppy fields near the city of Chichibu, which has gained notoriety as the “holy land” for AnoHana fans. Here is Kanon Tani as young Menma in those poppy fields.
The TV special is set in the city of Chichibu which is the setting of the original AnoHana anime. And since this TV drama is slated for September 21, 2015, we advice that it’s best to stock up on tissues as tears will indeed fall, just like the original 2011 anime and the 2013 movie.
