Here’s a tale of two books…
Who would have thought a Conan, the first in a long time, would be so boring and verbose.
Had this since Jan of this year and still am working thru it.
Buyers regrets for sure and going into the box, maybe sooner than later.
Older book but still a great read. WAY better than Conan Blood of the Serpent.
It’s more ‘Conan’ than the actual Conan book.
Set during the time of The Plague in France.
Part historical fiction, part ‘soulslike’ - still not a fan how it ends in the last two chapters but everything before them make up for it.
You stay on the shelf.
High-rise Invasion vol.7-8 by Tsuina Miura (2 in 1 vol.)
Solo Leveling vol.5 by Chugong (graphic novel)
Unfamiliar vol. 1 by Haley Newsome (graphic novel; she’s also a YouTuber “LavenderTowne”)
Again!! vol.4 by Mitsurou Kubo
To Your Eternity vol.3 by Yoshitoki Oima
One-punch Man vol.23,24 by ONE
To Your Eternity vol. 4 by Yoshitoki Oima
I’m a Wolf, but My Boss is a Sheep vol.1 by Shino Shimizu
Pluto vol.1 by Naoki Urasawa (also wrote “Monster”) and Osamu Tezuka ( beloved creator of “Astro Boy”)
Finished Ch. 1…and I want to throw this out the window; it’s not mine so I can’t. Still tempted.
Not a fan of first person narratives, cliche as hell, seizurely eye rolling…
I’ll try to continue…but…
Chapter 2 was slightly better…but just slightly.
Just one more chapter to go and it’s a short chapter, so I’ll finish the book.
Won’t continue the series.
Again, YMMV, art is subjective and all that jazz.
Chapter 3, done
