Overall, still a good read…just not on par as the first two volumes.
It’s the second half that brings it down for me: while them classic ‘anime tropes’ were present from the beginning, they were nicely moderated and kept in check.
Here, they’re just ‘going all in’ with them.
Not ‘eye-rolling’ ‘book out the window’ levels, but still more than vol. 1 & 2
Will I continue the series, hmm…we’ll see.

This is SO painfully ‘meh’.
More than halfway thru and not caring for the story, the characters, or the prose (but that could be the translation’s fault).
