Hurricanes, big, easy to spot, plenty of time to dodge 'em. Not like Tornadoes that pop out at you.
Critters are everywhere. Bears that walk up behind you while you are gardening ( That happened in Muskogee to a friend our ours. ) or Wild Hogs rooting up everything ( Happens here and in Texas. ) in your yard.
Still, Florida doesnât get so darn cold or as hot as it does elsewhere. It all evens out eventually.

You might not know that I grew up at the Jersey Shore, so Iâve seen my share of hurricanes. I even covered a few while I worked at Adelphia Cable Channel 8. (BTW, didja know that unlubricated condoms make a great ârain jacketâ for microphones?) I also weathered one of the most extreme storms to hit the East Coastâthe Ash Wednesday storm of March, 1962.
I guess it just proves that thereâs no perfect place to live.
