At the moment it’s looking like the private shipping companies DHL/Fedex are going to be cheaper than the postal system anyway for amounts under the $800. Postal it appears it’s going to be a $80 flat rate plus a $20 processing fee.
So if I’m understanding right the reason for the suspension is no one knows how all of this is supposed to work because as with the trade negotiations no one knew what the heck was happening. They don’t have codes and paperwork set up to collect the fees. It sounds like the original plan was for the postal system to charge once it got here but figured out that way would grind the system here to a standstill. So they pushed it off to the origin shippers countries to handle.
