He approached me, Newshawk, about taking over the game. I asked him if he thought it would be a good idea to start the game over. He was concerned that the current players would be upset over losing all their characters, so I came up with the āthree protected carryover charactersā idea, with an eye to having some fun with possible future rounds. I put it up to a vote, and the reboot with three carryover characters was the overwhelming favorite. I kept as much of Mysticās rules as I could, only tweaking some rules that I had seen as causing a large amount of friction early on.
Due to a short hiatus to make the changes, the first Friday for the new incarnation of CYB/B just happened to be Good Friday, 2010. Recognizing that some of the players may be away from home that day for various reasons, I decided to relaunch the game on Easter Monday, April 5, 2010. Despite an inauspicious start (the locked thread wasnāt unlocked exactly at 9:00 PM ET) the relaunch of CYB/B was welcomed with good participation. Since then, weāve played the game every week with the exception of Thanksgiving weekend, 2010, which gave everyone a chance to recover from the previous dayās tryptophan overdose.
That brings us to the 51st round of CYB/B.
As the one year anniversary of the reboot CYB/B lands in the middle of a week, I have decided to make the entire week an Anniversary Celebration! The upcoming round begins on April Fools Day and ends on Thursday, April 7, 2011. To celebrate, weāre going to have a seven day extravaganza-seven days of picking, trading and releasing characters. Iāll publish the exact schedule next Friday. Also (since I know Hornet65 would ask), for this week only, each eveningās round segment will last for one week-that is, the April 1 round segment ends April 7, the April 2 round segment ends April 8, and so on.
Therefore, start preparing your lists, players. Iād have at least a dozen potential picks ready. If you want to get the best Bishies, donāt forget to be here every night at 9:00 PM ET/6:00 PM PT starting next Friday, April 1st!
