I just want to let everyone know that I have decided to remove NegativeBackflow from the game. He has not been here in more than two years and has apparently decided not to return. His characters will be available with the next round on September 21st.

I’ll assume that you’ve probably read the rules or else you wouldn’t be posting here, but I like typing and being marginally helpful (sometimes) so here it is…
The important rules in a nutshell:
You get one claim per round unless otherwise stated by Newshawk, the supreme overlord of the game. Each round ends every Friday at 8:59pm Eastern, 5:59pm Pacific. New rounds start 9pm Eastern, 6pm Pacific every Friday. In your post you must include the round number, the name of your claim, and what they are from. It is encouraged, though optional to include a picture or 12 of the character. (please don’t actually post 12 pictures, or if you do at least put them in a spoiler tag :P)
If you don’t claim anyone for 10 rounds (10 weeks) in a row, you’ll get a PM from Newshawk or myself concerning this. At which point, you will have another 2 rounds (2 weeks) to either make a claim, or reply to the PM stating that you will be dropping out. If you take neither action, you will be dropped from the game.
There are three lists for characters that have already been claimed. The links are found in Blog / Important Notice for Anime Network Online Users - Anime Network. This is also where you can find the rest of the rules I didn’t cover here. By the way, I maintain those lists, so if you happen to notice any discrepancies between the three lists, or if I forgot to record your claim for a round, please PM me and let me know!
That’s most of the important stuff, if you have any other questions concerning the rules or any other aspect of the game, just ask!

Strategy tips: use the “Claim by Series” link on the first page as it’s easier to gauge whether or not a pick is available for a round. Use the the “Claim by Player” link if you are looking into doing a trade with another player. Depending on the series, you may have to be quick if you want a particular character or if the show has a small cast. (Dusk Maiden of amnesia comes to mind, as all the main girls went within 2-3 rounds of each other. Granted there were 3 main girl leads and the 2 best got snatched up when the show popped up on the Anime Network.)

Thank you all for the help! I do have some questions. What is the limit on female chars before having to pick a male? Like is it female one week and then male the next?
There is no limit. Some people have picks of one gender almost exclusively, others have a mix. The only requirement in that area is that if it is a special round (such as picking a character of the opposite gender of the majority of your collection), you must follow the rules for that round or sit it out. Which reminds me, we haven’t had one of those rounds lately. Hmmm… :evil:

Newshawk can really make a round out of whatever he wants to… We had a pick an animal round once.

I actually suggested we do a Mecha round to Newshawk, just for something different to pick.

I’d like to see a combo Mecha and Giant Mecha pick.
The former would include things like the armored suits worn by List of Bubblegum Crisis characters - Wikipedia and the latter would include Gundam-sized robotic suits.

With some exceptions, Mecha are inanimate objects that require a pilot to use… I think claiming giant chunks of metal is a little too outside the boundaries of the game.
