Clannad and Clannad After Story

Solution: Bigger TV

What time about might Clannad be on the online player friday? is three episodes going to be up?

2 free. Next week will begin the third as a subscription for premium members. No specific time, whenever they upload it. It’ll probably be uploaded early morning or very late thursday night.

Clannad English Dub will be available on the AN Online Player March 26 at 12 AM Central Time!

yay! I can see it before I leave fo the day. :woohoo:

Just a little over three hours away… and I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!

Longer for me but really looking forward to the dub.

I think you will guys will be pleased with the dub. It is a little rough, like most dubs are in the early episodes, but it’s actually a bit better than I expected, especially given the amount of time since Seraphim has dubbed a full length show. I was really worried about Lucy Christian’s casting as Nagisa, but she is doing quite well. She has a pretty decent vocal range, and I’m happy to report she sounds nothing like Kaname.

As for David Matragna, I can hear bits and pieces of Orphen, but he still fits the character pretty well. Greg Ayres fits Sunohara to a t though. Of course, he’s always been great with hype, spazzy characters, so I expected him to do well.

So far, so good. The wait was definitely worth it on this one. Good job Seraphim and Sentai!

I’ll find out for myself in just a few minutes, Cody! :cheer:

Okay, there is one BIG glaring problem with it, that I hope gets fixed later. Nagisa’s father mispronounces her name. He pronounces it NA-GEE-SA. I also don’t know how I feel about this voice yet. Also, Kyou’s voice doesn’t quite seem to fit her and the performance it a bit flat. But it’s the first episode, so I’m hopeful that it will improve as it goes along. EDIT: Actually, Shelley’s performance is already improving in episode two, so that gives me hope.

There is one big improvement. They play music now when the English credits roll. They replay the Dango Family song, which let’s face it, you can never play that too many times.

Also, as expected, Hilary Haag is PERFECT as Fuuko! Great casting there!

I watched the first episode so far. And just like dragonrider_cody I did find it to be a little rough but it is understandable. I am just so glad to hear a brand new neo-ADV dub finally.

Nice to hear Shelley again, I missed her since neo-ADV went sub-only and haven’t heard her until Halo Legends. I will be watching the second episode here soon after I finish up some things. I dropped what I was doing as soon as Suddenlink updated TAN SVOD.

I noticed that too, I wonder if that was intentional or just an accident.

Ever since I watched this subbed I couldn’t think of anyone else who could have been Sunohara’s English VA.

Yeah, I’m hoping it is just an anomaly. It’s hard to judge yet, because everyone else calls her Furukawa for now. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Perhaps it’s just supposed to be part of Akio’s nature. He’s always teasing everyone, after all!

Lol… we can only hope!

I finished both episodes just a few minutes ago, after watching episode 23 of After Story. This is going to be a fun ride! I have totally accepted Nagisa’s and Tomoya’s voices and am getting comfortable with all the others. I don’t know the VAs as well as many of you do, so I can’t comment on their performances vis-a-vie other series they have done, so suffice it to say the voices I hear are what I would expect in almost all situations. The only one I’m having a bit of trouble adjusting to is Kyou’s voice. To me, Shelly sounded a bit too mature for a high school senior in the fist episode, but by the second one either she adjusted or I adapted.

You all are right-Greg Ayers is a hoot as Sunohara! I wasn’t too sure at first, but as soon as Sunohara started interacting with Tomoyo, everything clicked!

Now that I’m at the end of After Story, I’m picking up on all the “Easter Eggs” Key’s animators sprinkled around the open. Ushio running in the field is a dead giveaway since episode 22 but I also caught a glimpse of Fuko in the woods looking for Ushio under the tree!

As soon as I finished watching the first two episodes, I got on the computer and pre-ordered the DVD set. I want this to watch over and over!

Oh, and my favorite discovery (thinks to the English credits)? Clannad is presented by the Hikarisaka High School Drama Club!

Here is what I posted over at Maina about the dub.

I am currently re-watching both episodes again! I am so pumped now I have something to look forward to every Thursday!

TODAY, Thursday, March 25, Clannad (Dubbed) premiered on VOD!
(Some posters have commented on it already - YAY!!)

TOMORROW, Friday, March 26, at Midnight CST, Clannad (Dubbed), will premiere on the Online Player!
Ep. 1 will be FREE for guests/registered, Ep. 2 will be FREE for registered.

Then starting thereafter… Ep. 3+ for subscribers.

I have toget my truck fixed in the morning so I can stay up and watch Clannad, I’m so siked up to watch it.

Siked? oh… you must mean psyched.

I watched 1 & 2 late last night when the update came in. I’m not totally sold on Nagisa’s voice, but maybe it will grow on me. Everyone else I’m happy with, although I thought maybe Sunohara’s voice is an octave higher than it should be.

Watched the first dub and liked it. I did have trouble hearing what Nagisa said in one part because her voice was to low. I really liked the voice of Sanae Furukawa. My mom watched it and enjoyed it also. I will be buying the dub for sure.
