Demon King Daimao / Ichiban Ushiro no Daimao

That’s my two cents from the solicitation thread.

And how about that, I actually guessed this one correct!

That is a perfect casting if I’ve ever seen one!

Janice Williams, Seraphim Digital has posted this cast list description:

Then she confirmed these guesses:

Akuto Sai - Chris Patton
Korone – Maggie Flecknoe
Hiroshi Miwa – Greg Ayres
Lily Shiraishi – Hillary Haag
Fujiko’s Brother – Blake Shepard
Yuri Hoshino – Jessica Boone

I need to see no other cast members. I’m SOLD!

Janice Williams, Seraphim Digital has posted these guesses as correct (updated):

Good! More quality choices. I’m getting excited for this one!

Janice Williams, Seraphim Digital has posted these guesses as correct (updated, Part 2):

Junko Hattori – Luci Christian
Lily Shiraishi – Hillary Haag
Kanna Kamiyama – Brittney Karbowski

:cheer:

The guessing game is over!

Here’s the full cast list:

Akuto Sai (Chris Patton) – Akuto is entering Constant Magic Academy with the goal of becoming a Grand Priest so that he can help improve society. Unfortunately, on the first day of class, the school’s resident Yatagarasu predicts Akuto is destined to be the Demon King, destroyer of society.

Kena Soga (Melissa Davis) – Kena is a somewhat flighty girl in Akuto’s class, though she seldom actually attends class. She really likes rice – no, really, she REALLY likes rice. She grows fond of Akuto rather quickly.

Junko Hattori (Luci Christian) – Junko is the daughter of one of the premier ninja clans. She has a strong sense of justice and right. She originally meets Akuto when he helps her grandmother with her luggage, and they quickly hit it off. She feels betrayed when the Yatagarasu announces that Akuto will be the Demon King.

Korone (Maggie Flecknoe) – a Liradan (android) surveillance agent. After Akuto is predicted to become the Demon King, Korone is assigned by the Magic Cabinet to keep an eye on him and report back.

Hiroshi Miwa (Greg Ayres) – one of Akut’s classmates. He looks up to Akuto in his future role of Demon King.

Fujiko Eto (Eileen Dover) – leader of the girls’ dorm at Constant Magic Academy. She has her own, somewhat shady plans for Akuto and does what she can to encourage him to become the Demon King.

Lily Shiraishi (Hilary Haag) – student council president of Constant Magic Academy. With her all-female cabinet, she effectively regulates the students’ lives at school. While not totally supportive of the idea of Demon King Akuto, she’s willing to live-and-let-live within reason. She also seems to have an agenda of her own.

Mitsuko Torii (Rozie Curtis) – the school nurse and Akuto’s homeroom teacher. Once she finds out he’s destined to be the Demon King, she encourages him to come to her in the case of his demise so that she can study his body.

Michie Otake (Shannon Emerick) – vice president of the student council.

Kanna Kamiyama (Brittney Karbowski) – treasure of the student council.

Arnoul (Margaret Fawcett) – secretary of the student council. She only says “Guga”.

Yatagarasu [Crow] (Rob Mungle) – an avian health meter and fortune teller. All new students at Constant Magic Academy are brought in front of the Yatagarasu to make sure they’re healthy and determine what their future occupation will be. He’s never been wrong.

Fujiko’s Brother (Blake Shepard) – Once a daring adventurer and explorer, Fujiko’s brother is now just a head in a jar. He often bemoans Fujiko’s wanton and unseemly behavior.

Academy Director (Rob Mungle) – the elderly wizard charged with running Constant Magic Academy.

Eiko Teruya (Stephanie Wittels) – daughter of a rival ninja clan. She’s after Akuto for her own reasons, of course.

Boichiro Yamato (Leraldo Anzaldua) – a suave member of the Magic Cabinet. He DEFEINITELY has his own agenda, and it doesn’t include the existence of a Demon King.

Peter Hausen (Andy McAvin) – a dragon who’s been sleeping for 100 years awaiting the coming of a new Demon King.

Yukiko (Brittney Karbowski) – Horishi’s younger sister.

Yuri Hoshino (Jessica Boone) – a pop idol singer.

Yozo Hattori (David Matranga) – Junko’s father, head of the Hattori family & the Iga Ninja.

Grandmother (Luci Christian) – Junko’s grandmother.

Keizo Teruya (Garson Keller) – Eiko’s father, head of the Teruya family & the Koga Ninja

Guessing there is a good reason they are not using their real name.

I saw that ninja edit!

So, we have an Eileen, but not a Ben?
I feel jilted!

I actually met a Ben & Eileen Dover (siblings) back when I worked in the lighting industry. Didn’t believe them till I was their driver’s licenses and they told me about their hippie parents. The evil that men do…

Wherever I heard that Chris Patton was getting out of major voice acting(unless if it is a returning character, i.e, Fate or Souske) lied to me.

Cast looks good, I just wish I heard better things about the show.

Actually, that was true, he did ‘retire’ for a time, he was just lured out again.

It happens to the best that they aren’t gone for long.

I am glad chris un retired. Just goes to show no really does stay retired. I don’t know if the only one but I wasn’t surprised Greg Ayres as Hiroshi. When I first saw the show on AN online I thought maybe he do the character in the dub.

The main reason Chris was retiring was the fact that he lived in Houston and with ADV not dubbing for so longl there was little work to be had. He drove to Ft Worth regularly to work on dubs at Funimation, but there were some “issues” there and he never got as many major roles there. Plus, the drive to Dallas/Ft Worth is fairly lengthy one (I believe about 3 hours?)

Anyway, it’s been great to see him in more dubs and even better to see him in a lead role.

Added to the first post as well.

The covers for the DVD and Blu-ray are the same so only posting the Blu-ray.

Demon King on has two screen caps on the whole thing.lol

LOL…
It’s Bible Black lite.
LOL…

Question: Will it include the omake anime shorts as well, like the ones in Needless?

I’m not sure it will. I think as of now it’s more leaning towards since they got the show so early on they were not part of the deal. It’s one of the downfalls to picking up home media license when picking up series for simulcast.

Amazon has the Blu-ray and DVD on sale at the moment.
