That truly is a shame. Hopefully everyone who worked with the studio receives compensation…

So that studio did both Fragtime and Why The Hell Are You Here Teacher?.

How does that work out when it comes to overseas releases? I mean, I know there’s a lot of licensing involved, but if the studio is now shuttered, how will the overseas companies aquire the assets for their own releases (I.E. Sentai)?

I was wondering if I should put it in those threads, but then just opted to put it here instead. If I learn anything more about it, I’ll let everyone know.

Well comparing the situation to Production IMS, the last thing they put out, the Testament of Sister New Devil OVA, was released in Japan and got a disc release (Hybrid x Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia is still MIA from Funimation, but it did get a Japanese disc release)

It could be a similar situation, or there could be no effect on stuff they’ve already completed. We’ll see how it plays out

True. And somehow Crunchy got digital rights to stream it :thinking::thinking:

Reading through it sounds like the production side was still working ,but the business side ran away and just went silent . Hopefully everyone gets paid first and then hopefully everything else finds a way to get released . Why The Hell Are You Here Teacher? the blu-ray box set comes out in Japan tomorrow . If Sentai does not have the uncensored materials yet then I have a feeling we might either see a censored release or none at all . Hopefully everything works out for everything .

I hate to say this, but if Sentai can’t aquire the uncensored masters, they would be better off keeping it digital only. Remember the scandal of Tsugomomo and Sankarea from Funi some time ago? It will be the same thing over again…

Even though it is no fault of Sentai, people can be extremely toxic about not getting the uncut version of a show.

Fingers crossed :crossed_fingers:
