HIDIVE PLAYS DEVILISH “DARWIN’S GAME”

HOUSTON, TX – December 24, 2019 – HIDIVE announced today that it acquired streaming rights to battle royale anime Darwin’s Game, produced by studio Nexus (Chivalry of a Failed Knight), for audiences in the United States and Canada. The series streams on HIDIVE beginning Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 17:00 UTC with new episodes following on Sundays at the same time.

When Kaname Sudo accepts his best friend’s invitation to play a mysterious mobile game, he never suspects he’ll be lured into “Darwin’s Game,” a fiendish battle royale where killing your opponent puts blood on your hands and cold, hard cash in your bank account. Can Kaname escape this insane scenario, or will he be an unwilling participant of the game forever more?

Yoshinobu Tokumoto (episode director WataMote: No Matter How I Look At It, It’s You Guys’ Fault I’m Not Popular!) will direct the series, which stars Yusuke Kobayashi (GATE) as Kaname Sudo and Reina Ueda (Land of the Lustrous) as Shuka Karino. Kenichiro Suehiro (Girls’ Last Tour) provides the series’ music.

HIDIVE NABS “LUPIN THE 3RD PART 5”

HOUSTON, TX — February 13, 2020 — HIDIVE announced today that it acquired streaming rights to Lupin the 3rd Part 5 for audiences in the United States, Canada and Latin America. The series premieres on HIDIVE on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 16:30 UTC.

A legendary thief deserves a legendary heist, and Lupin has set his sights on his biggest bounty yet: Marco Polo, a dark-web marketplace where drug dealers proliferate and there’s money for the taking. But just as Lupin swipes his latest fortune and tries to make off with the goods, his hideout is inexplicably surrounded by Zenigata and his forces thanks to a new game that’s gone viral on social media. It has a very specific, very unfortunate objective, and the name of the game is “Arrest Lupin III”!

Produced by TMS Entertainment (Dr. STONE), Lupin the 3rd Part 5 is directed by Yuichiro Yano (Moyasimon, Tales of Agriculture) with series composition by Ichiro Okouchi (Princess Principal). Go Zappa (Ahiru no Sora) produced the script. Seiyuus Kanichi Kurita (Lupin the 3rd) and Kiyoshi Kobayashi (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) return to voice Lupin III and Daisuke Jigen, respectively. They are joined by Inori Minase (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) as Ami Enan, Miyuki Sawashiro (High School of the Dead) as Fujiko Mine, Daisuke Namikawa (Gatchaman Crowds) as Goemon Ishikawa and Kouichi Yamadera (Cowboy Bebop) as Inspector Zenigata.

HIDIVE WILL BROADCAST “MEGALOBOX” IN LATIN AMERICA

HOUSTON, TX - 02/17/2020 - HIDIVE announced today that it acquired the rights to broadcast the sports anime and explosive science fiction MEGALOBOX, from TMS Entertainment (Baki, Dr. STONE, D.Gray-man), to broadcast it in America Latin The series will join the HIDIVE programs and will begin on February 24, 2020, 4:30 p.m. UTC. MEGALOBOX will be available in Japanese with Spanish and Portuguese subtitles.

Known only for his fighting nickname, “JNK.DOG” makes a living in illegal and fraudulent fighting by Megalobox, a sport that combines boxing with powerful mechanical exoskeletons, often deadly. Despite the lethality of the sport, he is bored of his luck in life until he almost runs over the current Megalobox champion, Yuri. Yuri easily defeats JNK.DOG in a fight, but challenges JNK.DOG to face him again in Megalonia, the official (and of course legal) league of Megalobox. Passion is revived and JNK.DOG, renamed “Joe,” must face opponents he had never seen before while climbing from the bottom to the top.

Created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the classic manga Ashita no Joe , MEGALOBOX is directed by Yo Moriyama (animation director of Master Keaton, Oh! Edo Rocket ) with musical composition of hip hop artist Mabanua. The protagonists of the series are Yoshimasa Hosoya ( Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? , Akame ga Kill! ) In the role of Joe and Hiroki Yasumoto ( GATE , Hozuki’s Coolheadedness ) as Yuri.

HIDIVE FEELS THE SPIRIT OF “WE RENT TSUKUMOGAMI”

HOUSTON, TX — February 17, 2020 — HIDIVE announced today that it has acquired streaming rights to We Rent Tsukumogami, from TMS Entertainment (Baki, Dr. STONE, D.Gray-man), for audiences in the United States, Canada and Latin American countries. The supernatural comedy series streams to HIDIVE subscribers beginning Monday, February 24, 2020 at 17:30 UTC.

In a place and time where disasters are commonplace, Oko and Seiji cater to local customers at Izumoya, their renowned rental shop for everyday items. Mixed with Izumoya’s regular inventory are tsukumogami, ancient spirits disguised as ordinary objects. Unlike most people, Oko and Seiji can see and listen to the spirits, and Izumoya becomes a hub of paranormal activity as numerous tsukumogami end up in the shop. And when Oko and Seiji spread the supernatural love by lending their “special” tsukumogami to unwitting customers, things get really interesting!

Produced by studio Telecom Animation Film (Orange, All Out!!, Chain Chronicle: The Light of Haecceitas), We Rent Tsukumogami is directed by Masahiko Murata (Serial Experiments Lain, Baby Steps, Corpse Princess: Kuro). Nagasarete Airantou is directed by Hideki Okamoto (Mysteria Friends, Battle Girls: Time Paradox) with scriptwriting and series composition from Mamiko Ikeda (Princess Tutu, Fruits Basket). The series stars Yui Horie (Waiting in the Summer, Golden Time) as Suzu and Hiro Shimono (Tada Never Falls in Love, Asura Cryin’) as Ikuto Touhouin.
