###Maiden Japan Announces License of Hiwamari!
Jun 23rd 2011

HOUSTON, June 23, 2011— Entertainment label Maiden Japan today announced its acquisition of the hit animated series HIMAWARI! Based on the teenage ninja manga sensation from the writer/artist team of GoDo and TAGRO, HIMAWARI! was directed by Shigenori Kageyama (Fist of the North Star) with script supervision by Mamiko Ikeda (Sgt. Now, finally, she’s got her chance to study at SHINOBI Gakuen, the elite academy where female ninja are trained! Unfortunately, Himawari! isn’t as prepared as some of her fellow candidates and on her very first day she ends up being saved by one of her teachers. To the embarrassment, the person who rescues her isn’t even a ninja! He’s Hayato Marikoji and HIS duty is to teach the ninja how to act like a normal person like himself!

With that inauspicious start, will Himawari! ever be able to gain entrance to the school? And if she does, can she meet the rigorous standards demanded by her teachers? Reading some of the reviews of this is leaving me feeling like I should have Rightstuf cancel this from my sale order come Monday. Seems like it’s really really generic and with my huge backlog I really need to start staying away from stuff I’m not sure about.

I usually don’t make such a decision until I’ve seen at least half of the first season. The exception is if there’s a particularly outstanding ep before then (Eureka Seven, when he first arrives on the airship, it’s been long enough I can’t even place any char names at present, but if shadycat ever returns to say hi again she might be able to fill us in, was such an ep) I’ll add it to the buy list earlier. There aren’t very many that I really enjoy re-watching though, most I enjoy it significantly more the first time than any time after that because I just remember too much of it too well.

Well to late to do it. Guess I’ll just have to let it go since shipping it back is a hassle and a half.

someone just pissed that TWC users didnt buy pay-per-view on the porn channel and TWC got rid of that mess cause nobody wants their kids watching cartoons on a channel that also has porn.

Well, no, no one on any provider getting the Free 30 service recieved episode 13 - DirectTV, TWC, Cox, for sure per reports posted here, not to mention it’s not on the schedule either. I’m not going to rehash what I posted in the VOD reports thread beyond that.

I guess it was just faster and easier to make a snarky comment than to check that out first?

I had to get the DVDs to see the whole thing, since AN messed up the VOD so badly. I like that fact that it answered quite a few questions that the first series left open.
