Sadly I would need to be able to HEAR the dub, which I can’t because everything he has been in that has a dub is subscriber only on ANO. He wasn’t the narrator for Space Dandy was he?
Shiroe needs a voice like Matt Damon mixed with NApoleon Dynamite. Awkward, higher-pitch, and solemn.
Shiroe’s voice could really ruin the entire show. He is the thing that keeps you interested in the early fighting scenes as things are being explained, and if the voice is too “Jet Black” from Cowboy Bebop, or Steve Blum or someone else too stern and gruff he will be less endearing than he is. The only place thus far Shiroe should sound like a gruff ass (like Alucard) in tone and temperment would be ep 26 when he is talking to Nureha and putting his foot down with full resolve.
I will take your word that he could pull off a Harlock style voice or Patton-eqsue. I jsut hope Shiroe comes off as a little bit awkward Vash the Stampede because both are very similar persona’s when I think about it. Maybe Gin from Gintama type could work as well.
Here is hoping the A in VA really stands out and they aren’t one trick ponies like Hank Azaria from Simpsons but more range like Kevin Spacey to be able to do voices.

As long as he is properly subservient to Shiroe, It might work, but if he in any way begins to sound like Isaac Hayes (Southpark~ Chef) then I am going to throw a shoe at the director!

While annoying it is a relationship that is a big part of the series not unlike Henri and Akatsuki. Maybe working against each othe it will work better than the voices I have imagined for everyone in a vacuum of only Aktsuki talking, ot only Shiroe talking since there isn’t much in the way of monologues once we break out of the MMO learning sequences. Minori will be easy during the goblin fights as she is explaining things since Nami has been very well done when she explains things to the bonehead rubberhead Luffy.
I have hope that he could do the Patton thing if he wanted to, but I don’t know of anything that proves that he can or if Kyle Jones even wanted him to channel Patton.

Same here, as when I think “Jad Saxton” I think of roles that have been the opposite of Aktasuki. Though I suppose she did play a somewhat similar role inHigh School DxD (semi-stoic, subservient loli-looking girl who beats up a pervy male character, whether he deserves it or not, for comedic effect).

! from Funi? Just found out Jad Saxton also did Funi. She is the voice of the child Nico Robin that was jsut on AS this past weekend in her backstory episode and alein girl that turns Space Dandy into some creepy looking doll with a body swap. I missed One Piece this week cause I was mad the Tensai Bridge episode of NAruto wasn’t the right part of the fight between Naruto and Orochimaru with those gates but will catch it on VOD later this week. The alien on Space Dandy ep 5 though was annoying as that character, but thinking back seems a perfect fit for Akatsuki. I think this will be a good play when Henrietta and Akatsuki are together, if only they spoke more to each other. I am thinking this Jad Saxton may be someone to fill the gap left by Jessica Boone, though half the things she has done I have never heard of or characters I never even noticed when watching the show like Soul Eater.

I see that Sentai posted the dub list for Log Horizon to Tumblr the day before they posted that they’d received a retail copy. I’m not sure what they mean by this though:
I suppose a post on social media shouldn’t be nitpicked for vagueness but since I’ve already started, I’m not sure that posting a pic of a retail copy of a still pre-orderable title and telling us that if we have preordered then we will get it on (but not before) its street date 11/25 is sending the right message.
On a side note, watching the page auto-update as edits are made to posts is rather eerie.
Already disliking the dub if that kicks clip is any indication. Once again the voice tracks take back seat to BGM… BACKGROUND music, means BEHIND everything else. I know Nao is flying away but his voice was I can’t find the right word, dull, bland, hollow, dead?
