Episode 7 –
[details=spoiler]As Aladdin and “Morg” continue their journey to Balbadd, they meet a man on the road and he’s wearing nothing but a leaf! He causes quite a commotion with them too. Later, at a campsite, and wearing borrowed clothes from Aladdin that quite obviously don’t fit, the man introduces himself as “Sin”. Poor Morg can’t even bring herself to look at him - she seems very embarrassed by his state of undress. Sin explains how he was attacked by bandits while on his way to Balbadd.
As they talk, suddenly Morg can smell the ocean and Sin tells them that it is just over the next hill. The kids run off and find themselves looking out over a big seaside city which turns out to be Balbadd. As they explore the city, I really don’t know how Sin can walk around wearing little more than a diaper! But there also seems to be a bad undercurrent in this city. With the death of the former king, the city is in a state of crisis and it looks like whoever is ruling now isn’t too popular.
Sin leads them to a luxury hotel where he says he always stays and Sin also says he will pay for everything. Aladdin thinks he’s rich, but I wonder if he really is. As Sin tries to enter the hotel, he is attacked by the guards there and forbidden entrance - that is until another man smoothes things over. He calls Sin his master and takes him off to do something about his clothes, while confirming that the bill will be paid for Aladdin and Morg.
One of Sin’s subordinates looks very much like Morg and it turns out that he is a Fanalis too. And it turns out that Sin is actually King Sinbad of Sindria! Aladdin and Morg are shown to a luxurious room and they find out that it may be difficult for Morg to find a ship home from there after all.
While Sin meets with the city leader and tries to reestablish trade between their countries, Aladdin and Morg are told about the “Fog Troop” - a group of thieves that operate under the cover of fog. Apparently, this is a big problem in this city and the reason that trade has broken off. However, the Fog Troop has only attacked the rich and the government and since they distribute what they steal to the less fortunate, some view them as heroes. They find out that the Troop has recently gotten a new leader and that the trouble has increased. Aladdin is shocked to find that the name of this new leader is Alibaba! Could it be his friend?
Sin vows to wipe out the Fog Troop so that trade can resume. But it looks like the city leader has other ideas – he seems to be plotting something. Meanwhile, Aladdin and Morg try to convince themselves that the thief must be another Alibaba and not their friend. Later, over dinner with Sin, he introduces his subordinates to Aladdin and Morg as Masrur and Ja’far. He tells Morg that Masrur is a Fanalis like herself and that they have the same eyes. I wonder if they are somehow related – it would be nice for Morg to find someone of her family. As Aladdin and Morg chat with Masrur, Sin and Ja’far try to figure out how to defeat the Fog Troop. This will be hard since all of his luggage and equipment was stolen by those bandits earlier.
Things get a bit funny when Aladdin brings out Ugo to introduce him to Masrur, but he finds out that Sin has met other magis too. He tells Aladdin that he is Sinbad and is taken aback when Aladdin doesn’t seem to know who he is. So, Sinbad must explain himself and his legend. He proclaims himself the master of seven Djinns and the conqueror of the Seven Seas. But Aladdin doesn’t quite get it and even asks Sin what exactly a magi is because he really doesn’t understand much about himself. Sin tries to explain about magoi and the Rukh, but again, I don’t think Aladdin gets it.
Since Aladdin is so powerful, Sin then asks Aladdin to help him capture the Fog Troop. Ja’far is not happy with that request and Aladdin isn’t sure what he should do. He asks Morg for her opinion, but Morg just wants to find a way to the Dark Continent and home. If defeating this group will help her, and also help them to find Alibaba, then she thinks that they should help Sin. Sin accepts Aladdin’s help, but tells a stunned Morg that she should wait at the hotel. All because he doesn’t think a girl should fight! I like how she convinces him otherwise!
As they plan their strategy, Sin thinks that the story of the “chivalrous thieves” is just propaganda and that these guys are in it for their own gain. However, he like everyone to come to their own conclusions and act on what they believe is right. That night, the trap is laid. But as Sin and Masrur stand guard, they come face to face with the people of the slums. Once he sees their plight, Sin think that maybe this country is a lost cause after all.
The fog rolls in, but it’s scarlet and they realize that they mustn’t breathe it in for it causes hallucinations. This fog is not natural, but made by mysterious powers. The fog is due to the Scarlet Hallucination Fog Sword that belongs to someone named Zainab of the Fog Troop. And she urges Hassan to hurry up and use his Yellow Erosive Fog Sword. I can see why they are called the Fog Troop! As they break into the mansion, Ja’far momentarily stops them but is caught in another fog caused by Cassim’s Black Binding Fog Sword. Morg is next to attack and also gets caught in the black fog.
Aladdin calls out to Morg as she fights against the fog and it seems that one of the Fog Troop recognizes him. Morg is defeated and Aladdin brings out Ugo. The one that seemed to recognize Aladdin steps forward to face Aladdin and Ugo alone. He removes his face covering and it is Alibaba! So, the stories were true after all. What will happen now?[/details]
