Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit / Seirei no Moribito

 I’m not even sure what I am talking about most of the time!

Tonight’s episode - Neither Human Nor Tiger - was very good. Plenty of Balsa action!

This was an awesome episode!

I really liked the philosophy behind this one, coupled with the action sequences, it made for a very thoughtful exciting episode.

I am very pleased with this series so far.

A very thoughtful episode indeed and especially nice that there seems to be a connection between this and the previous one. Lately it’s gotten to be episodic. I would have liked more fighting though, it kind of came and went too fast and too brief.

You do realize, that fights in real life are much like that, especially when it’s a one-on-one scenario.
Fast…brief…then over.

Personally, I like the way they’ve done the fighting sequences thus far.
They’ve made it much more realistic since there’s not magic or supernatural powers involved in the fight scenes.

Yeah I do. Sometimes realism and understated is good, sometimes it comes at the price of heightening the excitement via creative exaggeration. In that regard I find them too understated in this series. Lately Production IG has been a bit up and down with their action scenes. The ones here are at least more interesting than the ones in Blood+, although in this case they are kind of few and far between - for a body-guard themed series the action’s been limited.

Yeah, I’ll agree there, I do wish there was more fighting sequences.
I’m really liking the philosophical aspects of this series though. It’s kind of like “pick out the moral of the story” from each episode.

Oh yeah absolutely, everything else is superb. At this point that’s my only minor nitpick of the show, perhaps made more glaring since there’s either very little or nothing else left to want for.

I misses last night episode…

Lots of stuff happened last night!

spoiler

Madame Torogai talked to the Water People and found out stuff (can she hold her breath or what?); Shuga went down to read up on the Mikado’s history in the cellar (or whatever it’s called) at the Stargazer’s Place, without authorization; Balsa finally realized that she didn’t kill that dude from last week; the Master Star Reader comes back early and Shuga gets locked down in the cellar and the Master takes the key out and pockets it; Madame Torogai gets chased by a fire demon and then gets sucked up by a cave worm-thing and ends up in a charcoal pit; Balsa finds Madame Torogai and takes her back to Tanda’s; and we find out that the egg may not be such a bad thing after all AND we also find out that the history of the first Mikado was a lie.

Best part: Madame Torogai’s little bunny having a hissy fit about being used as a ‘sacrifice’

I too loved the pet scene and trying to bribe it with nuts at the end.

The historical details that came to the surface were surprising, and yet not at the same time. It’s the oldest thing about history, those who have power make the history (ie. it isn’t truth). The Shuga situation at the end due to his research was also very exciting. Can’t wait to see what happens to him.

I enjoyed everything about this week’s episode. I can’t wait to see what happens next!!

Balsa find outs that Pine is stronger and more durable, but he’s full of sap.

:woohoo:

My Druid side is very amused!

I just saw episode 14 it was weird at the end and now I don’t know if I want to continue watching it.

I liked this week’s episode. Very fantastical. At least now they have more insight on what is happening to Chagum and with history itself. It’ll be interesting to see how events unfold. And apparently someone doesn’t like how close Shuga (that’s his name right? the white haired star reader guy?) is to uncovering the truth. What a cliffhanger.

I am so bummed out!

Sagum finally gave out… he was looking pretty worn. Shuga did get to see him first, but didn’t tell him that Chagum was still alive. That’s too bad, it would have made him happy. He kept that bird all that time, waiting for Chagum…

Boy, was the Master Stargazer pissed off or what? Wonder what he’s going to do to that guy?

And that cloud was pretty cool-looking, kinda looked like a beehive.

What was that gunk that Madame Torogai was making? Is someone supposed to eat it?

And one more thing: Why were they carrying that melon around with them?
