Sure this show was “zany”, but nowhere near Horizon or Battle Girls Time Paradox, or even Bodacious Pirates. For all its mishmash of historical characters and genres, it was telling its story with a serious and straight face with realistic characters designs: a classic samurai tale.
And with that, I’d want him to give it a serious dub like all his other samurai dubs; his zany efforts are “just” okay Maria-Holic, AKB0048, Pirates… (with 2/3 exceptions):
Minor nitpick. If you are going to use Joan as her first name her last has to be “of Arc”
D’Arc is specifically related to her French (and historically accurate name) with her first name of Jeanne. I do understand why you are changing it, but it seems unnecessary.
From what I remember of this show, it was a a scifi series where historical figures do their historical thing while interacting with other historical characters from other ages and locations in an off-the-wall manner, which isn’t too far from Horizon.
Zany might be the only way to play it: Julius Caesar, with his sidekicks Wiley Kit and Wiley Katt, blowing up feudal Japan with his submersible Gundam is something that would turn out zany if played straight.
