I really liked this show been meaning to get it on dvd just haven’t but there a reason for that. It’s a fun show.
Warning spoiler:
I didn’t really like the ending and probably really would have absoulty despised the dark ending. The show ends like they went all through it and nothing changed. I would have love a better happy ending where you can confirm that the Yucie wasn’t stuck where she was. There is a tease looks like she grew a bit but it’s a tease that really doesn’t say anything.
Well it’s not really a tease. She did grow if you look closely. But the title of the episode clearly points out it will be a long and slow process. Although I wouldn’t have been opposed to the “she magically gets turned into an adult and marries the prince” ending either. it was a very cute scene in her dream. That would have been a cute way to end, with her kissing the prince at the wedding. But I like the ending they gave us. Nothing wrong with it. Perhaps not my favorite, but it’s great.

But yes I can see how it would be a bit annoying. It could be seen as a big let down after watching the entire thing . I liked it though.
Yes this must be bought by everyone, it’s truly a great series. Nice to see the fans finally coming out of the woodwork for it.
I just watched/rewatched this over the last few days (when it ran on TAN ages ago I saw some, but not all of it). Yeah, the ending could be better, it feels like it’s left open for a sequel of some sort.
I’m not sure it makes sense for them to go back to school, but then again you never saw them learning math or world history, either.

But it seems to me the point of the series revolves around the power of love and friendship; Yucie sacrifices her dream of being an adult to save the prince she’s fallen in love with. But at the same time she knows making the wish will break the curse that’s kept her small, so it’s not so much giving up as putting it off, she’ll just grow normally and not be an adult for a few more years. Even going back to the dead world to at least recover her memories of her friends fits into what this series is about, without the friendship and influences of those girls she might not have grown as a person in the same way, so of course she doesn’t want to forget about them. It’s why they were assigned to all those jobs and tasks, to have them grow inside.
Which is why this is a series I’d want my own kids to watch; it sends the right messages.
