Kaito Daimon would be a completely average high school student except for one thing: he’s a ‘demon’ at solving puzzles. Kaito’s so brilliant, in fact, that when he’s asked to take some ‘special’ tests of his unique ability, he immediately suspects that the test itself is a test. Kaito suddenly finds himself caught up in a lethal Philosopher’s Puzzle made by the sinister group POG, a murderous maze of trap upon trap, where failing to solve the secret correctly will result in death! Fortunately, Kaito’s skills prove up to the first test, both for himself AND his childhood friend Nanoha, who is also caught up in the deadly scheme. But now that he has been designated as a Solver, he is pulled into a new life where he must travel the world with other Solvers, attempting to solve the latest deadly riddles left by POG. There’s a new conundrum around every corner and each deception could lead to death, but once a riddle has been posed, you can count on Kaito to unfold, unravel and unlock it in PHI-BRAIN ~ KAMI NO PUZZLE!

I saw the first episode yesterday. It’s an odd one, so I don’t know how much I’ll like it, but it has potential.
Slick

Looks like there’s an issue with Ep. 03 currently, so I’ll post when it becomes availible.

-edit-
Looks like they’re already working on it.
Up time has been pushed to 6pm EST / 3pm PST.

So far, this one has just enough mystery and oddness to keep me watching.

Finished up ep. 03

I’m actually really enjoying this one!
I love trying to solve puzzles though, so that may at least be part of my enjoyment of the series.

I was also thinking, if this gets a dub, I think Andrew Love would be the perfect voice for Kaito.
A la his Adam Blade voice.

I can hear it now!

Solved it!

There was some sort of delay on Hulu’s end.

Kadokawa Shoten’s Newtype Ace magazine begins serialization on manga by Cloverfield: Kishin artist

The third volume of Kadokawa Shoten’s Newtype Ace magazine began serialization on a manga adaptation of Sunrise’s Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle anime on Thursday. Artist Yoshiki Togawa will be drawing the manga.

The story of the school adventure story revolves around Kaito, a puzzle-loving freshman at the private high school named “Root Academy.” He is selected as a candidate for “Phi Brain” for his extraordinary mental skills. One day, he and his childhood friend Nonoha tackle the “unsolvable puzzle” hidden in the underground ruins near the school. They are guided by the mobile device given to Kaito by the student council president.

The puzzle is the “philosopher’s puzzle,” a life-threatening creation of a mysterious intelligence group known as “POG.” When he defeats the puzzle, he is designated as a “Solver.” Together with Nonoha and other Solvers, Kaito battles POG at “philosopher’s puzzles” all over the world.

Junichi Sato (Kaleido Star, Princess Tutu, Tamayura) is directing off scripts supervised by Mayori Sekijima (Saber Marionette J, Star Ocean EX, Jyushin Enbu - Hero Tales). Hajime Yatate, the collective penname for the creative staff at Sunrise, is credited with the original story.

The anime premiered in Japan on the NHK Educational TV channel on October 2. Sentai Filmworks announced it had licensed the anime last month, and it is streaming the 25-episode series on The Anime Network.

Togawa previously drew the Cloverfield: Kishin manga, which was a tie-in for Paramount Pictures’ Cloverfield film.
