The editors of Takarajima’s men’s fashion magazine Smart reported on Tuesday that they made an error in its April issue. Its feature on Puella Magi Madoka Magica listed Gekijō-ban Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica Shinpen: Hangyaku no Monogatari (Puella Magi Madoka Magica New Feature: Rebellion) as opening this summer. The editors say that the feature should have said that the third Madoka Magica film is “scheduled to open in 2013.”
The April issue of Nikkei Entertainment! magazine reported on Monday that Gekijō-ban Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica Shinpen: Hangyaku no Monogatari (Puella Magi Madoka Magica New Feature: Rebellion), the third Puella Magi Madoka Magica film, will open in Japan this fall.
Takarajima’s men’s fashion magazine Smart had reported last month that the film will open this summer. However, the editors of that magazine later said that they made an error.

The English Facebook account for the Puella Magi Madoka Magica franchise revealed the poster for the first two films in Mexico on Monday. The first posters for Japan, the United States, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, France, and Hong Kong debuted last year, followed by those for Italy and San Marino. The posters depict the main cast against a different background to match each country or city.
The two films will begin playing in Mexico on May 18.
What can a third film do to advance the series? Madoka Magica had a solid endung that IMO would only be hurt if expounded upon. What can be done that wouldn’t lessen the impact of the sufficiently dark and hugely ironic ending of the original series?
I thought that the earlier movies were recaps so I didn’t think of this before lol.

Maybe he’ll learn from them that a movie can have flashy action sequences and a ridiculous premise but yet still have a plot? Madoka didn’t set the bar very high for plot but it does beat Pacific Rim (and many contemporary anime) senseless in that regard.
