OH YEAH, THIS IS GOING TO BE FLIPPIN’ AMAZING!!![/b][/b][/size]

Still annoyed that Aniplex wasn’t (and, as far as I know, still isn’t) planning on dubbing this. The dub wasn’t great, but I wasn’t a fan of the sub (saw the series twice in it and it didn’t even grow on me).

“For reals”

Some previously unseen footage accompanied by new opening song by ClariS

A new commercial for Gekijō-ban Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica Shinpen: Hangyaku no Monogatari (Madoka Magica The Movie -Rebellion-) began airing in Japan. The ad for the upcoming third Madoka Magica film has small amounts of footage that did not appear in the earlier feature on Fuji TV’s morning program Mezamashi Terebi, although they did appear in the promotional video screened during Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2013 this weekend. The ad also previews the opening theme song “Colorful” by ClariS.

Aniplex describes the story of the third film:
[Note: Highlight the text below for the story, which contains spoilers for the end of the television series and first two films]

Madoka Kaname. Once a normal girl who led a happy life, she sacrificed herself to save other magical girls from the cruel fate that awaited them. Unable to let her memories of Madoka die, magical girl Homura Akemi continues to fight alone in the world that Madoka left behind, dreaming of meeting that nostalgic smiling face one more time…

Akiyuki Shinbo and Yukihiro Miyamoto are directing the film at SHAFT with original character designs from manga creator Ume Aoki (Hidamari Sketch). Yuki Kajiura will be providing the music, while musical units ClariS and Kalafina will perform the movie’s opening theme and ending theme (“Kimi no Gin no Niwa” or Your Silver Garden), respectively.

The main cast will be returning from the television series and previous two films, with Aoi Yūki as Madoka Kaname, Chiwa Saito as Homura Akemi, Eri Kitamura as Sayaka Miki, Kaori Mizuhashi as Mami Tomoe, Ai Nonaka as Kyōko Sakura, and Emiri Katō as Kyubey. Kana Asumi joins the cast as a new magical girl named Nagisa Momoe.

The third film will open in Japan on October 26. The film will then open in the United States, Canada, and France this winter. Aniplex announced at Japan Expo in Paris that the film will debut in France in November. Aniplex aims to release the third film in still more countries worldwide, just as it did for the first two films. Japanese theaters will begin selling the second batch of advance tickets, each with one of six different special poster boxes, for 1,500 yen (about US$15) on Saturday.

A new flyer for Gekijō-ban Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica Shinpen: Hangyaku no Monogatari (Madoka Magica The Movie -Rebellion-), the brand-new third Madoka Magica film, is revealing more of the story premise for the film:
[Note: Click on the arrow below for the story, which contains spoilers for the end of the television series and first two films]

[details=spoiler]A girl becomes a magical girl in exchange for her wish. The magical girls have a fate to fight against the witches, the harbingers of destruction that plant the seeds of despair, and in the end, they will succumb to despair and transform into witches themselves… The terrible cycle that had repeated so many times was finally ended by Madoka Kaname’s sacrifice, and the world was led into a new order. However, the magical girls’ battle must continue. The reason for this is because it is the compensation for the miracle. Unable to let her memories of Madoka die, Homura Akemi, the magical girl left behind continues to fight alone in the revived world. Her feelings pave the way for a new story.

…Madoka Kaname, the girl who had become the pillar to the order of the circle and Sayaka Miki, the girl who had lost her life when her magical power ran out both appear in front of Homura. What is the meaning of the appearance of two girls who should not exist anymore at all? Will Nagisa Momoe, the new magical girl who has an unsure face, tell the truth of the matter? And what is the new being that fights against the order of god and tramples the world?

The true climax of Puella Magi Madoka Magica! The story reaches the unbelievable “incredible finale”…[/details]

Puella Magi Madoka Magica’s original character designer Ume Aoki drew the third piece of key visual art which debuted on Friday. The tagline on the poster reads, “We could finally meet,” and the art features Madoka Kaname, Homura Akemi, Sayaka Miki, Mami Tomoe, Kyōko Sakura, Kyubey, and the new magical girl Nagisa Momoe.

Starting on October 5, participating theaters throughout Japan will offer the third batch of advance tickets with a B2-size poster of the new art. The second batch with one of six different posters in a limited special poster box will stop being sold on October 4.
