3rd Madoka Magica movie Blu-ray sets to be imported from Japan
Aniplex of America announced on Tuesday that it will release Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion on Blu-ray in North America on April 8. The film will be available in both a Collector’s Edition and a Standard Edition as Japanese imports for US$94.98 and US$54.98, respectively.
Both editions will include the theatrical trailer, commercials, textless opening, and audio commentary. The Collector’s Edition will also include exclusive box and Digipak packaging art, the bonus “Rebellion Theatrical Release Commemoratory - Understand the Hit Anime Series “Madoka Magica” in 2 Hours!” Blu-ray Disc, a deluxe booklet, and a soundtrack CD. Customers ordering at Aniplex of America’s official retailers will receive the English-translated booklet and three exclusive clear files with images from the theatrical posters.
The anime’s North American theatrical premiere was held in Los Angeles on December 3. The film opened in the United States and Canada on December 6.
I had hoped that they’d learned their lesson and would have offered the Japanese release equivalent in English, with a dub, when the Japanese version was released. But no, AoA is still wallowing in “fail”.
Without the dub (meh though it was) I’m not particularly interested in this. Then again, since this movie was well within “blatant cash-grab that shot the franchise in the foot to make a quick buck” territory, I’m not sure that I want it anyhow.

Film’s Blu-ray/DVD & idol group’s new single went on sale on Tuesday
Members of the female idol group Nogizaka46 star in a live-action television commercial for Tuesday’s Blu-ray/DVD release of Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion in Japan. The concept of the collaboration incorporates the anime’s theme of “girls who keep on fighting in exchange for wishes.” Nogizaka46’s new single, “Kizuitara Kata Omoi,” also went on sale on Tuesday.
Shigeaki Kubo directed videos for EXILE, Namie Amuro, Miliyah Kato, and other musical artists before helming this project. The ad puts members of Nogizaka46 in the world of the Madoka Magica films.
Five members — Sayuri Matsumura, Erika Ikuta, Mai Shiraishi, Nanase Nishino, and Rina Ikoma — appear in the ad. In particular, Matsumura, Ikuta, and Shiraishi dressed up as magical girls, performed wire action stunts, and acted in sword and gun fighting scenes.
The morning program Mezamashi TV aired a segment on the collaborative ad:

While back pockets with portraits are strikingly obvious, the two sets of pants hide the true extent of their power levels
You have to laugh at the half-subtlety of the Madoka Magica jeans coming from Cospa’s bishoujo Nijigencospa label. While back pockets with Madoka and Homura’s portraits are strikingly obvious, the two sets of pants hide the true extent of their power levels with full-color pics of the mahou shoujo sewn into the interiors of their front pockets.
Pre-sales take place at summer events such as Wonder Festival, with the pant going for 11,000 yen ahead of an October release.

Thought CG would get a kick out of me watching the first 5 episodes of Madoka with the wife.
I do think she is enjoying it, We seem to be jumping to the very next episode right after the end of the last.
