Producer & writer discuss the films in the January issue of Megami Magazine

Some buzz is going around regarding a couple highlights from a new interview with staff on the Puella Magi Madoka Magica movies that was published in the January issue of Megami Magazine.

Regarding the status of the third part of the trilogy, producer Atsuhiro Iwakami said, “It’s not being worked on in the studio yet, but Mr. Urobuchi has finished the screenplay.”

On the possibility of swimsuit or onsen scenes, writer Gen Urobuchi hinted, “There’s not a total lack of service scenes, but I can’t say that they are decidedly swimsuit or onsen situations…”

Urobuchi’s message to fans at the end of the interview was encouraging: “I myself didn’t think I would be able to write a continuation of this series. But it’s funny because now that I tried to write it, I was able to finish it, and I am greatly satisfied with the result. So I think the audience, too, can expect something that will satisfy you to as surprising a degree as it did me.”

Rightstuf put up a packaging shot of the first LE.

If first link does not work it’s under the cover picture on the second one.

It looks so awesome!

However, I’m less than thrilled about this part:

Deluxe Collectors Slipcase

That kind of implies it’s not an actual box, which makes me really sad.
Sounds like it’ll be similar to the Oreimo box.

Yeah the slipcase part has me worried to though I’ve seen Japanese companies use that term before to describe what we call art-boxes. Probably need to friend them on facebook and ask. Also say something along the lines of hope that box is made like Funimations current LE’s cause for the price it’d be kind of a rip if not.

Just noticed this on their facebook page:

:frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

Interestingly enough, some time after that was posted on the AniplexUSA FB page, they took the LE set pic down from the homepage.

So now, it’s back to saying:

*Cover Art subject to change

Hopefully they got a bunch of complaints and decided to change it.

Looks like they added the LE pic back to the homepage, and it doesn’t seem to be changed at all.

Also, they added the RE BD pic now.

So it looks like the Aniplex Guy is working on some announcements very soon. Stay Tuned for more clues.
I hope this has something to do with an actual box for the LE sets.
Or maybe streaming it before the release.

Shaft to also sell Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko Anime Sketch Collection at Comiket

The anime studio Shaft announced on Tuesday that it will sell advance copies of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica Key Animation Note Volume 1 archive book at Comic Market 81 (Comiket) in the Tokyo Big Sight event center from December 29 to December 31.

This is Shaft’s second collaboration with graphics designer Milky Isobe to produce a Madoka Magica archive book. Puella Magi Madoka Magica Key Animation Note includes images from the science fiction television series’ opening animation.

The production company Aniplex sold advance copies of Puella Magi Madoka Magica Production Note, Shaft and Isobe’s first Madoka Magica archive book set, at Comic Market 80 in August with a limit of two books per buyer. The two-volume set included production materials and art by the design team Gekidan Inu Curry. The book went on general sale in September, but the store chains Toranoana and Gamers accepted a second round of pre-orders that shipped on October 20.

Aniplex’s Comic Market 81 booth (located next to Shaft’s) will also sell a Puella Magi Madoka Magica “original goods set,” but the company has not yet provided details about the set’s contents. At August’s Comic Market, Aniplex sold a Madoka Magica karuta card set with a read-along CD, a T-shirt designed by Gekidan Inu Curry, and a B3-sized shopping bag.

Advance copies of the Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko Ex anime sketch collection will also be available at Shaft’s Comic Market booth this month. The book will include images of the eccentric character Erio. Shaft produced the anime adaptation of Hitoma Iruma’s Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko light novel series this past spring.

Everything is what we’d have called a budget dub a few years back so I’d say it’s more standard dub for today’s standards.

Strategy & Partners’ PC game to be free to play, but items will cost money

The online game company Strategy & Partners announced on Wednesday that it agreed with Aniplex to develop and run a Puella Magi Madoka Magica Online browser game for personal computers. It aims to begin service on the game next spring.

While the game will be free to play, items will cost money. The player can make friends with magical girls and form a party of six, including the player’s own character. As an online title, the game also supports cooperative play between multiple players as they take on Walpurgis Night.

A website had opened last month for what was then a “secret project” connected to the Madoka Magica television anime series. A three-part film project was announced last month.

Cabanos Signing and Voice Acting

It’s for Premium members currently (which I’m not), so I’m not sure how much is here, since I can only see the preview,
However CR just posted a vid of Cabanos doing VA work for Madoka if you want to check it out.
