I still need to pick up Season 2 of Aria though. It is nice to see someone still putting out chipboard boxes. Thank you Nozomi!

Got some good news is that suncoast near me isn’t going anywhere and the next anime event is on 30th 5 days after my birthday.

Sadly, that may be the last Suncoast in existence… :frowning: I really miss them. Their prices suck, but they were a great place to find older series.

A CD World near me has tons of older stuff. It’s like walking into 2005/2006. Really very few stuff they have is from after then. Well they have stuff from before then, but it’s like a museum. Go look at all the toxic stuff Geneon put on the shelves, or the tons of re-release singles by Funimation. It’s interesting. I got Saikano there really cheap, and a bunch of older stuff. A Coconuts near me has a great selection too. It’s like all from 2008 or earlier but it’s great. The FYE by me has stuff that’s like 6 months-year old, and some random stuff from long ago. it’s weird, because all three stores are owned by Transworld. I guess they gave up buying new anime at CD World, but Coconuts and FYE still get new stuff, just gata wait awhile :stuck_out_tongue: . Wonder what the deal with that is? I really hope transworld does alright. I love going there and getting anime randomly. Never know what I’ll find. Please keep all the stores open? Please stay in buisness? It’s like the last resort for anime round these parts, unless you go to Best Buy (which I do for brand new stuff). I order stuff online a lot too, but still…

Anyway the Suncoast near me went out of buisness years ago. but that’s the place that i used to buy anime from, it’s where I started to buy anime. I loved that store, they really gave anime the star treatment.

Yes they did. I remember the one in my hood. A full wall of nothing but anime - from the front, all the way to the back. And not just anime dvd’s; anime related as well: mags, figures, posters, miscellaneous stuff (keychains, wallets, t-shirts, etc.), etc.

Good old Menchi. How plushy you were.

Yeah, even when I stopped buying anime at Suncoast, I still grabbed collectibles and shirts there. They were a great place for that kind of stuff. Not just from anime either, but Hollywood merchandise as well.

I really MediaPlay too. They were like Suncoast, but bigger and cheaper. But sadly, Music Land killed that one before going belly up.

I don’t think Transworld will be around too much longer. Their primary businesses are rapidly declining, and they simply can’t compete on price with Best Buy. Their primary advantage was selection, but they’re loosing out on that to places like Amazon. Companies usually have one foot in the grave when they start closing 100+ stores every year. I will miss them though. :frowning:

Cody I do hope you are wrong with that. I’m going to pretend you have no idea what your talking about ok. Living in denial is my speciality.

But really I heard they were “going to go out of buisness” (not from you) back in 2008, and still nothing. People keep thinking it, but they’re pulling through, I hope. I always see people shopiing at the FYE at the mall. The stores that are not in the malls have NO ONE there, ever. But the mall stores do fine IMO. Even in other parts of this state, they are always crowed. Perhaps their plan is to close all the non-mall stores, which seem to be a big open sore, sucking money dry for them. IMO the mall stores still gata bring in cash…

Got the other day:
Toward the Terra - Complete Collection (Anime Legends) $26.99
Aria the Natural - Season 2 Collection, Part 1 $30.38
Aria the Natural - Season 2 Collection, Part 2 $30.37
(These came with the extra items to. President Aria toy looks like he had some issues with a boot.)

Shipped:
Genshiken 2 vol.3 $16.19

Pre-ordered:
One Piece - Season 2, Part 5 - Fifth Voyage $26.99
Dragon Ball: TV - Season 3 $26.99
Lupin III: Episode 0 - First Contact $16.83
One Piece - Season 2, Part 6 - Sixth Voyage $26.99

A few more things I could of ordered and will get later but until April I got to limit my entertainment spending.

If that is their plan, it seems to be the exact opposite of the of just about everyone else…lol But I hope TransWorld can pull through too. I’m just a bit more pessimistic about it. It seems all my favorite stores go out of business, or majorly downsize. :frowning:
