Yeah but the thing is, no one goes out to their stores to buy DVDs anymore. But if they go to the mall, and see an FYE there, they may go in and buy stuff, or they may go to the mall to get crap + DVDs etc etc. That’s why I think their mall stores seem to be doing well vs their non-mall stores. For other companies, who sell other products the reverse may be true. But as far as I can tell, every Trans World store I go into not part of a mall, has NO ONE it it. But the stores in the malls are PACKED. Like I can’t move around in the store, there’s that many people. And I wonder how they can be doing bad, with this many people there every time. But it becomes clear when you think of how much money they are wasting, keeping stores open where no one shops anymore.
Now I have NO IDEA if that’s their plan, but it would make a lot of sense, at least from my angle. I sure hope they stay alive. They are one of my favorite companies too. But sadly my favorite stores go out of buisness as well. Loved Suncoast…and see what happened there?
That very much depends on the individual store. I know all the FYE stores near me, including the last Suncoast were empty most of the time, even during the holidays. Plus, floor traffic doesn’t mean anything if people aren’t buying. Most of the people I see in FYE walk in, look at stuff, then leave. It’s quite sad.
Well at the stores near me at least, the lines are frigen long with people buying stuff. So I think they are doing ok. But who knows…it’s hard to see from the outside really…
