S23/Sentai Filmworks/Switchblade Pictures/Maiden Japan, etc. PRs And Announcements - 2014/present

This thread is going to be the thread for all PRs and announcements from S23 and all the companies they handle. Aesir, ADV, Sentai Filmworks, Switchblade Pictures, Maiden Japan, and any others I am forgetting at the moment.

So normal discussion threads still get made, but everything news, PRs, and announcement wise gets put here starting as of now.

PR thread will be handled by mods only now . Realized it’s getting too cluttered with comments and such. If you want to discuss it feel free to create or post in a existing thread. No copy and paste of full PR in the discussion threads though. If a show gets licensed you may comment it has been licensed by Sentai Filmworks etc., but no full PR copy and paste please. That way it keeps clutter to a minimum with the new forum setup.

SENTAI FILMWORKS LICENSES “STUDENT COUNCIL’S DISCRETION”

HOUSTON, November 13, 2014 – Politics aren’t normally pretty, but at Hekiyo Academy, they’re absolutely gorgeous! Sentai Filmworks is proud to announce its latest acquisition, Student Council’s Discretion. This slice of life comedy series is adapted from the light novels by Sekina Aoi and is directed by Takuya Sato (Say,”I Love You”, Strawberry Marshmallow) with series composition by Jukki Hanada (Beyond the Boundary, Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions) and animation production from Studio DEEN (Fate/stay night, Sakura Trick).

At Hekiyo Academy, all but one of the Student Council members are elected via popularity contests, and since teenagers think with hormones more often than intellects, those seats are filled by the attractive derrieres of the school’s most beautiful girls! That makes things extra rough on the one student chosen for academic scores, because besides being the council’s only male member, one of Ken Sugisaki’s main assignments is writing stories informing the student body about the many achievements of their Student Council. That means manipulating the truth just a bit, and given that Ken’s a besotted fan of dating video games who fantasizes about his fellow council members as his “harem”, things tend to get even more out of hand. And exactly who’s going to be the leading lady is up for debate, as immature Kurimu, tomboyish Minatsu, twisted Chizuru and “boy love” obsessed Mafuyu are all trying to add their own particular spins, even as their jealous rivals in the Journalism Club aim to shoot them down! The lines between facts and fiction disappear and what REALLY happened will probably never be revealed except at the STUDENT COUNCIL’S DISCRETION!

Student Council’s Discretion will be available soon through select digital outlets with a home video release to follow.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SENTAI FILMWORKS LICENSES “DD FIST OF THE NORTH STAR”

HOUSTON, December 15, 2014 – Sentai Filmworks is proud to announce its latest acquisition, DD Fist of the North Star. Originally created by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara with support of “Monthly COMIC ZENON” and with animation production by Ajiado, DD Fist of the North Star is a parody series of the original Fist of the North Star comic and gives our familiar heroes the chance to flex their comedy muscles in a world where nuclear war never happened.

To be its evangelist, highly trained in the secret martial art of Hokuto Shinken, Kenshiro has achieved such a high level of combat expertise that he can kill a man with his finger. Though these skills may be useful for a wandering man trying to survive the deadly wastelands left behind by nuclear war, they’re all but useless in modern day Japan! With an apocalypse that never happened and a less-than-desirable skill set, would-be hero Kenshiro is stuck looking for a job just like every other unlucky person in Japan. And frankly, part time jobs just aren’t cutting it. Things start to look up when he stumbles across a vacancy notice at a convenience store, but unfortunately he’ll have to deal with two contentious contenders if he wants the job: his own brothers Toki and Raoh, who share the same dilemma as Kenshiro himself. The battle for the stock shelves begins—fists will fly and no punches will be pulled as martial arts and shelved snacks collide in DD FIST OF THE NORTH STAR!

DD Fist of the North Star will be available soon through select digital outlets with a home video release to follow.
