Maiden Japan Acquires Sci-fi Classic ‘Armored Trooper Votoms’

Maiden Japan is proud to announce the company’s acquisition of the mecha classic Armored Trooper Votoms as well as many of the acclaimed series’ subsequent OVAs and spin-offs. Widely acknowledged for breaking new ground in storytelling and introducing a level of realism not previously seen in giant robot series, Votoms’ spectacular action sequences and gritty drama quickly turned it into one of anime’s most beloved sci-fi franchises, spawning a series of sequels, video games and novels that continues to current times.

Although the franchise universe continues to expand, the original series story revolves around Chirico Cuvie, a battle-worn soldier who accidentally becomes involved in a mission to steal military secrets from allied forces. However, during the mission, he discovers that the real reason behind the assignment is a beautiful woman locked inside a container. Barely escaping alive and running from his own army, he’ll have to fight to unravel the truth behind the betrayal, the mysterious woman, and the conspirators who will do anything to silence him.

Maiden Japan has currently announced the acquisition of rights to Armored Trooper Votoms, Armored Trooper Votoms OVA Series, Armored Trooper Votoms: Pailsen Files, Armored Trooper Votoms: Gen Ei, Armored Trooper Votoms: Case; Irvine, Armored Trooper Votoms: Chirico’s Return, and Armored Trooper Votoms: Finder. Announcements for Home Video release dates and availability for streaming on selected media outlets will follow.
