Teasing Master Takagi-san: The Movie Hits Theaters Summer 2022

HOUSTON, TX – July 19, 2022 – Sentai announced today that Teasing Master Takagi-san: The Movie, the feature length follow-up to the cheeky, uplifting anime series of the same name, will appear in select theaters August 14 and 15 for a special theatrical engagement.

Takagi and Nishikata’s final summer in junior high is about to begin, and it’s already off to a heartwarming start! When the pair find an abandoned kitten, they decide to work together and take care of their adorable new companion until they can locate its missing mother. What follows is the true beginning of this moving story of young love, complete with the delightful teasing and hilarious antics fans have come to expect from this beloved series and its cast of fan-favorite characters.

The film is directed by series’ veteran Hiroaki Akagi (Teasing Master Takagi-san3, Those Snow White Notes) with animation by Shin-Ei Animation (Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Time, Sweetness & Lightning) and scriptwriting from returning writers Hiroko Fukuda (Real Girl, Doukyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue), Aki Itami (Flowers of Evil, Fruits Basket) and Kanichi Katou (Mairimashita! Iruma-kun, Tsugumomo).

The film reunites the series’ seiyuu including Rie Takahashi (KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!, Isekai Quartet) as Takagi and Yuki Kaji (Ahiru no Sora, Attack on Titan) as Nishikata. Inori Minase (Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, The Quintessential Quintuplets) and Haruka Tomatsu (Gintama, ORESUKI - Are You the Only One Who Loves Me?) join the rest of the returning cast as Hana and Ota, respectively.

Teasing Master Takagi-san: The Movie premiered at Anime Expo 2022 in Los Angeles before heading to theaters for a limited theatrical release. Fans can stream the film exclusively on HIDIVE at a later date.

Section23 Films to distribute ROYAL SPACE FORCE – The Wings of Honnêamise 4K Remastered Memorial Box

HOUSTON – August 16, 2022 – Home video distributor Section23 Films announced today a special collaboration with Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc. to distribute ROYAL SPACE FORCE – The Wings of Honnêamise, the first feature-length animated film by renowned anime studio GAINAX. The film has been remastered in stunning 4K in honor of the legendary film’s 35th anniversary.

Section23 will offer the Japanese special edition of the product, complete with English subtitles, English dub, and gorgeous bonus features perfect for the discerning collector. Extra features include an audio version of the Pilot Film never released on laser disc, a BGM collection accompanied with many Image Boards, the “Document File,” released only in 1987, and more! Shirotsugh Lhadatt, the protagonist, is a member of the Royal Space Force, which far from their dreams have gone into idleness. One day, Shirotsugh meets Riqunni, a girl who preaches God’s word, and his destiny drastically changes, leading him to volunteer to be a space pilot…"

SHINICHIRO WATANABE’S CELEBRATED ORIGINAL MUSIC ANIME “CAROLE & TUESDAY” HEADED TO HOME VIDEO FROM SENTAI

HOUSTON, TX — September 22, 2022 — Sentai revealed today that it has acquired the home entertainment rights to the critically-acclaimed music anime “Carole & Tuesday” from original creator and chief director Shinichiro Watanabe, who is wildly admired for such commercially successful titles as Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo and Space Dandy. Animated by production studio Bones (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Mob Psycho100, Space Dandy, My Hero Academia) and directed by Motonobu Hori (animation director for Psycho-Pass) with soundtrack by record label FlyingDog, Carole & Tuesday will be released on home video by Sentai later this fall.

In the not too distant future, AI-generated music dominates entertainment on Mars, where the cutthroat music industry churns out dozens of plastic stars manufactured for mass appeal. It is here that Carole Stanley, an aspiring singer and orphaned teenage refugee from Earth, struggles to makes ends meet with odd jobs all the while dreaming to become a musician. That dreams suddenly comes closer to reality when she meets fellow teen Tuesday Simmons, who is also a wannabe musician. Tuesday has her own set of problems, but their troubles fade away when they band together to write music the old-fashioned way in defiance of AI-generated convention. With the winning combination of Carole’s keyboard, Tuesday’s guitar and their vocal harmony, this powerhouse duo take on the Martian music world together—but life in the big city isn’t always kind to naïve young hopefuls like Carole and Tuesday.

The series stars Japanese voice actor Miyuri Shimabukuro (Granbelm, Vermeil in Gold, The Case Study of Vanitas) and English voice actor Jeannie Tirado (The Promised Neverland, Ascendance of a Bookworm, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind) as Carole Stanley with musical vocals by Nai BR.XX. Japanese voice actor Kana Ichinose (Darling in the FranXX, Dr. Stone, Gleipnir) and English voice actor Brianna Knickerbocker (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Vinland Saga) star as Tuesday Simmon with musical vocals by Celeina Ann.

ACCOUNT SERVICES TRANSITION ADVISORY – SENTAI AND SECTION 23 FILMS ACCOUNTS

Distribution Solutions (DS) (a wholly owned subsidiary of Alliance Entertainment Corporation) will begin handling distribution of Blu-ray, and home entertainment products from the SENTAI® group (“SENTAI”) effective April 3, 2023. SENTAI includes Sentai Filmworks and Section 23.

The following are details and dates for the transition.

  • On Monday, April 3rd DS will assume sales order processing, distribution, operational, and back-office services for SENTAI products.
  • DS sales staff will begin soliciting SENTAI new release titles starting with June 2023 releases to accounts they will manage.
  • Starting with June 2023 new releases, pricing will shift to the DS pricing schedule, and terms will be under your current DS account. Catalog release pricing will remain unchanged.
  • SENTAI releases will be included in all current RLJ/DS account vendor support programs.
  • DS will begin accepting catalog orders (including June 2023 new release prebooks) starting April 3, 2023.
  • If you utilize a wholesaler for your orders, please continue to use it until further notice
  • You will be invoiced from Alliance Entertainment LLC
  • Sentai/Section 23 title list transitioning to DS is included under a separate attachment
  • For Direct Deposit / ACH, please ask your DS Sales / Support Team for account information

Tickets are by reservation only. Maximum capacity of 52 guests (13 tables with 4 chairs each). Weekday sets are $25-45 and Weekend Shows range from $60-80. Weekday Café Reservation seating is first come first serve. Oinky Doink Live Porkformance Showings will have assigned seating. Shows will only be performed on Live Porkformance Special slots but personal performances may also be purchased on weekdays.
